Airlift kit

Bought the Airlift kit for the front springs on the Bounder. Started working on it today. They claim one hour each side.....@&$:;( Took me 6 hours just to get the OE dry rotted/spring formed bags out! I haven't attempted to insert the new bags yet. About how many hours of swearing and twisting am I looking at for the rest of the install? Any tips other than what is in the instructions?

Without that fiber washer it will last about 1000, 2000 miles (maybe).

My 1st time the washer had slipped down but not out I did not see it and next spring I had to do the job over.

I used a light application of grease to hold them in place.

Got it installed. Two people makes for easier work (at least to roll the bag into a hot dog shape and zip tie it! Didn't take but about 1/2 hour to install the bags on each side. I used Ru-Glyde tire mounting lubricant (I mount my own motorcycle tires) and it worked well. One concern I have is that on one of the bags, the top donut protector slipped out and it was too late as the bag was just about to the top and could not be pulled back down. I figure it should be fine as I can't really see how it would have a constant rub....at least I hope it lasts a couple of years if not.

never tried the hot water, but baby power works great. The old ones just cut them out. The washer, just a spot of glue.

I warmed them up in water, squeezed as much air out as possible. I had to make a fitting for a plug to stop them from re-inflating. rolled them up as much as possible. good luck, not a fun job, but they did go in. An hour or so on each side. the real fun is getting the fiber washers to stay on the top and bottom.

Soak the new bags in hot water to soften them up before you try to install them.
