approximate cost of replacing decals.

Just had a local graphics company give me an estimate on removing and replacing all the decals(several swirl stripes)on the motorhome. Most of them have several cracks in them and some are dull and won't buff to a shine anymore.

The estimate is $3300 to $3600. I was expecting somewhere around $2000 to $2300.

Is this estimate about right for a 40' motorhome, or does this seem high priced for replacing decals?

9 years ago we had the "unavailable" decals on our 98 Damon Intruder replaced by a Elkhart area Rv service company at a cost $1750 for "expert hand cut decals" plus $800 to buff out the RV. The decals were never right after several attempts to get bubbles out that showed up about two weeks after paying for the work. We traded the RV off for our Tiffin with bubbles under the decals. If I were to have it done again I'd opt for a graphics man good with an air-bush rather than an "expert" who hand cuts decals.

$1750, 9 years ago would make my estimate seem right in the ball park if they do a "good" job. I have thought about having them removed and painted on and still may consider that. The nice thing about this company is that they will do everything on site in my RV park, so I don't have to give up the motorhome for a week. Maybe the price is a little high because of all work done at my site.

I like the swirl graphics and don't think I would be happy removing them and just having plain white, but that's just my thoughts...

Have you looked at having the decals removed and than use the outline to mask and paint? Certainly would stay better longer.

Check with RV Stripes and Graphics located in Mesa, AZ. (rvsg.com). They do an outstanding job and are reasonably priced.

How about just remove them and not replace them? I wonder if the fiberglass under them can be buffed out? Mine are also starting to fade and when the time comes, assuming I still have the motorhome, my plan would be just remove them and if needed paint the motorhome white. I've seen plenty of solid white motorhomes around and they look just fine.

seems high to me as well.
Have you call Tiffen?
They may still have them.
A few years ago, I got some from Fleetwood for a 99 Pace Arrow.
