Battery access for a 2006 Gulfststream Limited Edition

I have a 2006 Gulfstream Limited Edition 25' long. It has two house batteries that appear to be linked in series, just behind the driver's side door under the camper. I can not see how to check them out or even remove them. They are not on a tray and there is only about two inches of clearance over the top.

It would be impossible to pull these out so there has to be a way.

Please help.

Thanks, Bob

Someone got them in and hooked them up, so it is possible, just not easy. It is going to involve some sliding around and probably tilting through the opening. It might take two people strong enough to handle the batteries at arm's length. I can barely handle some of the larger sizes close to my body.

I suggest putting plastic caps over the terminal posts before trying to get them through the opening as it would be real easy to short both posts on some part of the RV. The caps are on most batteries when bought new, and you might find caps also in an auto parts store.

Mine only had 1 battery in there and I push up from the bottom to get it over the angle iron lip. I recall also tilting it a little as I pulled it over. It isn't an easy task with 1 battery...I'm sure 2 is very tight!
