I know many of the cc companies offer cash back or discount at the pumps or some kind of benefit. Which do you find has the best benefit? Many gas cards are often a negative benefit after you pay with the card. Want to know from your experience. Thanks

If you live in NC how do you get a PennFed card?

You can apply online. Pentagon Federal Credit Union

If you do not have any military affiliation now, or in the past, then you can join the National Military Family Association and that is sufficient.

I am checking into their card now. Do you use a plat rewards or plat cash back? I am thinking the plat cash back. I see there is no annual fee. Do you recall any hidden fees once you started using the card. If I join the National Military Family Association for $15 I can get the card?

I prefer the cash back Visa card. The rebate is automatically deducted from your monthly balance and there are no hidden fees. To qualify for the maximum 5% fuel rebate, stick $25 or so in a Money Market account. You only need to join NMFA for the first year to qualify for PenFed membership. After that you're an existing member and don't need to renew with NMFA.

I have had mine now for quite a few years so I don't know if anything has changed. It is the Platinum cash back card that I use. Joining the NMFA was only a one time fee and I opened an account at Pen Fed and stuck in the minimum amount required. Since it accrues interest, it was no big deal and it was not very much. I just checked and I have $100 in a money market account there.

It's old news really, related to a 2013 fuel rebate fraud charge.

8 former, current Pilot employees indicted...

Only 8 PFJ officers were indicted, not "most of the Office people", and none have been tried yet, much less in prison. PFJ has paid out nearly $170 million in rebate lawsuit settlements and fines. We've found PFJ fuel prices to be competitive with other stations in the same area nearly everywhere we go. And during the recent media manufactured gas shortage in the southeast, PFJ stations did not raise their fuel prices at all, unlike many other stations.

Not a full time RVer, but 4% back on fuel with my Costco Citi Bank card plus 3% on dining out is pretty darn good for me.
