We are looking for 32 or less, class A. Note will probably not need diesel as will be moving to MI, WI or such, wouldnot use in winter, nor "travel a lot" in other seasons. Want 32 or less due to size restriction in parks etc, just two of us,do not need more.

So if we rule out diesel, what is best gas engine? We have son in law who had Ford with the Trition V10 in truck, had one mess after another, but he is ot exactly know for mechanical skills/knowledge. Many said the "Triton V10 has issues as Ford tired to make a V what ever is needed, rather then dedicated single unit.

So what oare experiences with gas engines, failures, great ones, repairs and routine maintenance, etc What is expected miles before major works. Note will do lite maintenance work, oil, fileters, etc. Am mainly diesel guy so no much experinece with the gas.

I own a 2004 F 250 V10 with 98,000 miles - 25,000 has been towing our 35' Montana 5th wheel. Absolutely no problems, towing west coast from BC to LA a few times and to Montana GNP. I'd get another one if this one ever gives up.

I have owned a 99 Ford 3/4 ton with the V10, no problems, owned a 2002 Ford MH
with the V10, no problems, still own a 2003 Ford 3/4 ton that I tow a 34 ft TT,
no problems. The v10 eng is the best gas eng that I have ever owned and I have owned many over the years

I wonder if it was a problem with cheap fuel, or poor maintenance on the truck with the problems?

Most of what I hear about the V10 is it will pass anything! But to avoid the 1998 - 2000 model years due to short spark plugs, and if you do not install them with a torque wrench, they will pop out, due to bottoming out the threads and removing them from the aluminum heads.

I'm thinking poor maintenance because I use the cheapest fuel that I can buy and no problems.

I had an '05 as at tv for my fiver. Had no problems, strong tower, but I couldn't stomach the poor mileage especially when not towing. That might be more palatable when used to power a motorhome.

3 motorhomes, all 31', all V-10. Very satisfied, no issues. 2004, 2008 and currently a 2011. Do regular maintenance and use recommended Ford oil.
Took the 2004 to Maine with toad, out to TX another year with toad, and the 2008
went back to TX. The 2011 needs to take a trip...but no issues so far.

Money can't buy happiness but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a

I owned a 2002 F250 with a V10. Sold it at about 125,000 miles. Never a problem. Still own a 2008 F250 V10. Has about 55,000 miles. Never a problem. My MH is a V10 and has about 10,000 miles and so far no problems. I do use Ford recommended oil and filters and do regular maintenance.
