We have been camping out on Lake Havasu until yesterday and the winds have been around 25 MPH gusting to 35-40 MPH we moved yesterday and were on the Colorado River just below Parker Dam and the winds here are calmer but it still blows good in the late afternoon. Last night driving home from Parker, AZ. My I-Phone weather alert went off (very similar to a amber alert) warning us of high winds and fire danger? The wind here is blowing out of the Northeast toward the West. Across the River from our Camping spot is San Bernardino County, California desert. Weโre about 240 miles East of Los Angeles is my guess.
your a long long ways from the ventura and La area fires so no worrys

A head wind
Will certainly hurt fuel mileage

A semi was blown off the highway. They were from the west according to weather but at times flags showed them blowing directly across the highway. The gusts were the issue.
