Calling all Thor Venetian and Tuscany Owners... Info please

Greetings and Salutations All,
After 13 years of part-timing it in our 03 Hitchhiker Discover America 5th Wheel, we're going full time no later than August 2017.

We've decided to pull the trigger on a new 40 foot Class A diesl pusher, and really like the Thor Venetian A40 and Tuscany 40DX.

Any owners out there... I would sincerely appreciate an honest evaluation of the rigs, the pros, the cons, customer service and anything else about either of these two coaches you would care to share. I'm gathering as much info up front as possible and will be at the show/rally in Phoenix for a week of camping and kicking tires on new rigs.

Your insights and recommendations would be highly prized and most appreciated. Thanks in advance for you help.

Sorry - I was not ignoring my post. I unexpectedly ended up in the hospital and it's taken me awhile to get my feet back under me.

Thanks for the replies. They are very helpful.... Please keep them coming. Camperguy99, I sent you a PM. Very interested in your experience with Thor and your dealer. Thanks again everybody.l

Own a 2015 Tuscany 40DX. Bought new. 1st year has been a real pain getting everything worked out. It's a very complicated, very full featured coach that will take a lot of understanding to use it all. Since Camping World is the service agent I chose to do most of the repairs myself. Worst was/is the Aquahot heating system. 3 zone thermostat but Thor chose not to use zone 2 for heating but does for Ac? Zone one sensor was never connected, found the bare wires in the wall. Would not control the temp. Several things wrong with the Aquahot, bad pumps, bad temp sensors. Took repairman 6 trips to get it working. Very disappointed with "continuous hot water" as advertised. Gets to barely hot but does go on a long time. First clue was the windshield. After 30 mph you couldn't hear yourself. Dealer got that fixed. Be sure to spend a lot of time checking things out. Our biggest concern was a crooked wall in the refrigerator compartment. Was so crooked that the microwave door hit the wall Lazydays (Tucson) refused to fix it. I found the error was 5/8" on the top half wall and after several days got it repaired myself. Clearly a manufacturing defect. But now after 1 1/2 years it seems to be coming into shape. Pretty nice coach now. First Class A coming from a 5th wheel.

First year will be a real pain!

Four Winds, Thor, Mandalay have always handled my repairs satisfactorily.

We have a Tuscany 42RQ 2012 model and really like it. Warranty work has been decent. Not many issues at all. Real pleased with the unit.

Thanks Jerry. Took a quick look on the internet at a coach like yours and it does seem to be much the same layout. Very nice. What is your experience with warranty work/customer service? They (now Thor, then still under Four Winds umbrella) seem to have a good reputation. Just wondering if there is anything, good or bad to pass on to a new buyer. Thanks again. Bill
