Somewhere I read a story where one of those beds broke in the down position and basically rendered the coach unusable. We really like that feature as well but hope we can find one that has a manual backup. Not sure if that exists, though.

The 2011 and newer Fleetwood Storm models and the 2010 FW Encounter have it as an option (Ford F-53 chassis.) If you have more than a couple of kids, the 32BH model has bunk beds amidships, and the drop down loft bed up front. Sleeps up to 10, in a pinch, if you use the sofa and dinette.
Only a few Diesel Pushers have them, as most have the main entry door located next to the passenger seat. There is one (Palazzo, I think?) that has front entry door and the drop down bunk, owners claim you can still comfortably crouch under it to get in and out.

Friends of ours have a Palazzo and their bunk is on a track system and I think they installed pins halfway down the track to stop it before it got to the seats.

Most class A's - and part of the appeal of a class A - is the ability to swivel the captain and co pilot seats around to use as living room chairs. Well, some of the bunk mechanisms out there have the bunk come to rest on the tops of the front seats rendering them useless.
This is why I'm wanting to find one that is electric so we can adjust the bed as needed.
