Class B Van Manufacturers

Besides Roadtrek, are there any more manufacturers making Class B's on the van chassis (not the Sprinter or Dodge Ram Pro chassis). Roadtrek makes the 170, 190, and 210 on the Chevy chassis. Other manufacturers use to make them, but I am not finding any that still do make them. Not looking for used ones...

There is no one else converting Chevys, other than Roadtrek, which is, of course, Canadian. But there are quite a few dealers around North America.

Asheguy is right... what you call a "real van" is pretty much dead and Chevy is in the process of moving over to the European style van too. Even your local plumbers and electricians are soon "converted" over to the idea of being able to walk around inside the van instead of stooping over.

I suggest that you head over to your local Dodge dealer and drive a Promaster. I think you will be surprised at how well they drive. It is the van that Winnebago and Roadtrek are moving into...

I think you have missed the window. What you are calling a "real van" is a US invention that seems to be becoming a thing of the past. The US seems to be following the European lead in vans, i.e. taller and longer Sprinter-like vans that they have had for years and a range of vans that are smaller than the up-to-now standard American van.

Yes we have seen that, but we are looking for a nationwide manufacturer...something that can be found within 100-200 miles away...not having to drive halfway across the country...

I think Roadtrek is just bringing out a shorter version of the ProMaster van called the Zion SRT which is 19'7" long. Not sure if that counts as a van for you though...

Great West Vans is out of business... don't expect them to be back as their bank closed them. There may still be negotiations going on, but...

Leisure Travel no longer makes any B Class units... only small Class C units. They are top quality, but very expensive. I suspect that they may never be able to start producing their B's again... and they were all on Sprinters. (their Chevy Class B was stopped some years ago now)

Pleasureway only makes small Class C units and one Promaster conversion.

Your choice is either Roadtrek or Sportsmobile.

Look at the line-up of Leisure Travel vans. Although a little larger than a B, they have some nice floor plans and I recently saw a new one on a Chev chassis.

PleasureWay uses Ford and Sprinter. Leisure Travel Vans used to build B's. Great West Vans might have something. There are others. A good place on the web to find Class B's might be Van City in St. Louis.

Sportsmobile makes them on any van chassis and offers customer designed floor plans.
