Class C in Yosemite

Have a question for anyone who has taken a Class C (mine is 28') in Yosemite Valley. We are staying about 1.5 yours west of there at Yosemite Lakes RV Resort near the West entrance. We are visiting the park 1 day on a Friday in June. The question is, if arrive at Yosemite Valley around 9am, will I find a place to park? Or would you suggest taking the YARTS? I'm reluctant to take YARTS just being bound by their schedule, but nervous about parking. If anyone has any input, THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hi there; have been to Yosemite many times and camped in the valley with the masses. You will be able to find parking if you go early. There are 2 large parking areas where you can park and then ride the free shuttle to most areas in the park. From the parking lot near the village, you can walk to many areas as well. I would do that over YARTS so you can stay as long as you want and not be on a schedule. There will be a line of cars to get into the park; I would get to the entrance as early as 7am, get your parking spot, make breakfast in the RV and then explore. Tip for casual dinner before heading back out: pizza and beer at what used to be Curry Village (half dome village now?)

Wow thanks!

Finding a place to park will be difficult. I suggest that you consider a tour of Yosemite, which leave from one of the lodges. There are several different tours depending on what roads are open. The tours stop at all the top spots and you don't have to worry about driving or finding a parking spot.

I'm taking YARTS later this month, leaves right from the Mariposa KOA. Then will use the park's shuttles.

We were there in late last June. Camped @ Indian Flat cg and rode the Yarts. The traffic is horrible. The Yarts line is great to get around the park. Save time and ride the Yarts.

In June parking will be a problem for anything. We had no problems parking our Class A but being retired we have the luxury of being able to go off-season during the week. During high season you'd probably have to arrive at 5 AM to be near enough to the front of the line to park an RV (not that many RV length spots). Take the bus to avoid aggravation.

One day in the valley is all? Not arriving until 9 a.m.? Last time I was there I spent a week and saw 10%...up before dawn, out and about until dark.
