Class C RV model recommendations

My wife and I are recently retired and in the market for a used RV with a particular floor plan. We’d like a walk around queen bed (separate, private bedroom with door). Mid cabin bathroom/shower with sink outside the bathroom. Diesel engine. Bunk over cab. Dinette or chairs ok. Swivel front seats would be nice. And as short as possible, like in the 24-28 foot range. Anyone have the perfect make and model to recommend?

I agree with the Conquest 6280 design!! I have a 28A Thor product which is almost identical in layout and LOVE IT! Especially the doorway to block off front living space from bed/bath when one is getting ready for the day. Separate shower is very nice so other can be shaving/brushing teeth or "other" duties 🙂 Never have understood the diesel preference myself (cost/maintenance/did I mention $$$?). Good Luck finding all that in a small one. If you decide to go with gas and a little longer we have a Forester 3051S that checks most of your boxes. The seats swivel but not sure it's worth it. Good Luck, at one time I wanted diesel but didn't want 36' or Mercedes. Also having a diesel truck and repair bills to go with it, we are happy with gas. Happy hunting, I think that's half the fun. We love our floorplan.

As several of us pointed out he is not going to find a diesel that checks most of his other boxes. Every coach is a series of compromises and I think this thread has given him some viable options. It remains for the OP to make the choices that will minimize those compromises... just sayin.

I understand that, and yes, several pointed out (as I did in my first post) that "something's gotta give". Interesting to note however, that the 2 diesel powered options I suggested were about as close to ticking all the OP's wish list items, but for the 2 misses (sink location/walkround bed) I pointed out. There were also some other late to the game posters that went directly at the "diesel" wish list item, in a negative sense, as they both made their preferences known, in spite of it not being a "gas vs diesel" thread. "diesel, no way" was their only opinion.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the OP prefers diesel? The original question wasn't "gas or diesel?", it was a short floor plan/options wish list, including diesel, and whether something like that exists.

Gulf Stream Conquest 6280 might be ur best bet

just keep in mind, it might be a good idea to have a floorplan where you will have full use of the rv with the slides 'in'. There will be times when you might need to be stealth while parking overnight somewhere or .... if the slides malfunction, you'll be able to continue on. Getting a rv repair appointment or on-site mobile repair might be a challenge

x2 owned a diesel, wasn't worth it
unless you are using a diesel for a work vehicle to make money or need to haul very heavy loads....its not worth it

As others have said, something's gotta give. That's normal when looking for "the one".
The only 2 models of Winnebago View/Navion that would tick most of the floor plan boxes are the 24J and 24G (no longer in production). The 24J has the sink outside the lav, but has the corner bed, so that's a near miss. The 24G has an (almost) walk around rear bed that slides/extends out at the rear of the unit, but the sink is inside the lav. I think they both tick the cab over bunk, diesel powered, around 24' to 26' length, and come with either couch or dinette, in a small driver's side slide. The MB 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel with 5 speed transmission is a great power combo, but as others have suggested, watch that OCCC if you plan on towing anyhting, or bringing along the rest of the family. Most Views/Navions are OCCC "challeneged", mine included, but you can be creative with what stuff you actually need, versus what you want to bring along.
You can see the various floor plans at some of the better dealers like Lichtsinn, or at the Winnebago website. Pricing will vary on these based on age, mileage, wear and tear, and the rest of the usual stuff.

I wish you luck but sadly you will need it. A walk around bed, private bedroom with a door in a Class C will only be possible in something larger than you seek. They start showing up at around 28'+ and do not come with the most popular diesel {Mercedes Benz} as they are only found in the 25' or under models. Diesels become common if you move up to a Super C but that is a lot more coach, not to mention money than you are seeking.

Some of your other priorities can be met but filling all or even most of them is going to akin to searching for Unicorn. If you can adjust to a V-8 or 10 in a slightly larger coach you should be able to check most of the boxes. {The new Ford 7.3 V -8 is getting good reviews.}

If you start considering a larger size watch your payload carefully. The larger C's tend to be very short on CCC/OCC and adding a slide{s} exacerbates this issue and your coach will probably involve a slide. Be sure you can use all of the amenities when it is in and know that street side slide will often restrict how much leg room the driver can access. Make the swiveling front seats a priority, I wish my 24 footer had them.

Dynamax, but you might not get the shorter length you want. Otherwise, you will undoubtedly end up with either a Mercedes Sprinter-based unit, or a Ford Transit-based unit (some of the Transits, but not all, are diesels). Bed configuration might be a bit of an issue, but at least you could look at floor plans before you dive full-on into the process. Best of luck finding the right one -- and you will! :C
