Coach batteries going dead.

Folks -
I seem to own a 2011 Winnebago Vista 36D complete with evil spirits. My latest maintenance mystery involves the Coach 12V Battery system.
First - the batteries are BRAND new - as in this week. Freshly charged on an external charger before I put them into the coach. All contacts cleaned, brightened, and tight. When the batteries were fresh installed the status panel indicated full status with the coach OFF of shore power.
The coach is plugged in to shore power at the home base and unplugged just before takeoff.
So - taking the coach out this weekend and the house batteries show dead (immediately - as in still in the driveway) on the status panel. I can hear the relay click when I activate the cutout switch, but no pilot light and no juice. The coach does not power this side on the road.
We get to the campground (No choice - grandkids were counting on the trip) and all systems operate properly (including the 12V stuff) when I plug into shore power.
All circuit breakers (that I can locate) are in the "on" position.
Of course, the converter is buried under the refrigerator, but I would not have 12V lights if that were dead, no?
The wiring diagram from Winn is almost useless, and I am getting no help from that end.
Can someone give me a hint, a divining rod or a clue how to get my batteries to charge?

Almost at my wits end...

(Signed) almost witless.

Mike and Dieharder -
This is looking strongly like a faulty (intermittant) Coach battery disconnect solinoid. After I accessed it it started working - now it won't fail for me. (Can't wait till I finish this trip and get it to a regular maintenance shop). Thanks for all the help!!

I do have two other evil spirits to excise - when this trip is comoplete.
Ciao and Safe Travels!!

Used to happen to mine all the time until I found a blown fuse from the inverter. Since replacing the fuse, no problems.

I had an issue with my 2011 fleetwood storm's house batteries. I replaced the batteries as they were 4 years old and I had run them down dry camping a few times and thought that was the problem. same problem with new batteries led me to believe I had a bad inverter. After removing the inverter to make sure I could install the new one myself, I discovered two blown fuses on the inverter. Of course they faced the back wall so you could not see them or access them until you removed the inverter. A $3.00 fix! After new batteries of course.

RV Mike - No, I wasn't in CA, but we got one of those dealerships in PA as well. Bought my rig at a trade show. When I went to pick it up from the dealership I originally thought the dealership was a junkyard. (I am as serious as a real judge) This place actually had a "spaceship" in the yard! Shoulda walked out right there...

Tom/Barb: Thank you for your reply. I am sure the batteries were installed correctly.

Charlie and sch911 - FUNNY you mention this - I just had a NEW solinoid installed. Silly me, I thought it would be done correctly by the dealership. Guess I have to pull it apart and check again...

THANK YOU everyone for the replies!!
