I don't want to start a Ford vs Chevrolet dispute but in considering the purchase of an older Class A am wondering what is best as the rig gets older yet. The Ford V10 is still in production while the Vortec is not. Are parts still available? And can the present "techs" work on one and know what they are doing?

I am leaning toward the Vortec as I have a 2001 V10 and 28ft TT that leaves a lot to be desired as far as pulling power on hills.

They will be using a new 8.8 L. You can read about it here:

I had a 20 year old Chevy 454 gasser and had no trouble getting parts. FWIW, Workhorse is coming back. Not sure which engine they'll be using.

If the budget affords it, get a 2006 or newer MH with the V10 (more HP and another transmission speed than earlier models).
