Cost of living in the road

I'm kind of wondering if there is a direct correlation between the value of a person's rig and the cost of living. I'm wondering if it could be something as simple as 35%.

So those whose rig is worth $300,000 might have about a 105,000 lifestyle where as it might cost $210k per year to live for those who are living in a $600,000 rig. If your unit is worth $100 k can you live on $35 k? I think it is of some value to have an idea otherwise I might think I can afford say a 500,000 unit and after purchasing it come to realize I can't really afford the $165000 per year it cost to live the lifestyle that goes with it. What are your thoughts?

True!
We have people living on a a meager disability or SS and "full timing".
I think you could spend just about any amount you want. If your busy and do a lot of stuff, the skies the limit.
I would take a couple of extended trips, maybe a coupe of months and see what kind of life style you settle into.

I think this explains it very simply. It's not the RV and how much money you have, it's how wise you are with your money and still enjoy the lifestyle.

Yes, he would be a very interesting person to run into at a CG (or a Walmart).

I have had a variety of motorhomes with much different prices. My cost of living has varied little. Probably decreased as i have gotten older.

Now that would be someone interesting to run into at a campground.
Your lifestyle on the road is determined by what you want and what you can afford. Our expenses vary quite a bit from trip to trip, depending upon what exactly we are looking for. Looking for solitude in some National Park is much less expensive than looking for the party lifestyle in some RV resort.

I agree with Ron, your lifestyle is not controlled by your RV. On other forums and blogs with frugal RV living discussions, I see many folks with RV's in all price ranges posting great suggestions.
