Hey, just wondering for all you do it yourselfers, were do you buy your air and oil filters at? And while I'm at it what brand oil do you recommend for this engine? Regular or Synthetic? We have the Triton V10 by ford, but hate buying from dealers. 😉

I change my oil once per year and, I use Mobil 1, 5W-30W, Synthetic Oil. I use the oil with the Gold Cap (Extended Life).

Regardless of gas or diesel I have always believed that oil changes are a quick easy an inexpensive to make sure the old guy or gal stays on the road. I always run Castro full sin and name brand filters. I have cars that I only change once a year as they don't reach the min milage requirement for a change. Plus it's always good to take a look underneath for anything amiss. I dispose of the waste properly. When like in the case of my Cat MH oil is in gallons not quarts I save a great deal over dealer service.

I did not have to much room. so I took one court at a time and poured it slowly down the tube..

the dimensions of the access area in front of the engine will vary by coach builder. I was able to get a 5 quart jug in there and then tilt it with just enough room.

I do as many repairs as I can except I also use Speedco for any oil changes as does Dennis! I used to have a local mechanic change my oil and I bought filters from Filterbarn.com. Oil was shell Rotella 15-40 from Wallmart!

On all my engines (car, truck, boat or MOHO) oil at Walmart, but filters always from the OEM.

2008 Triton V-10 5-20 Motorcraft oil and filter. I use Motorcraft oil and filters in all my vehicles and change according to recommend mileage. Buy by case or 5 quart containers saves on cost.

Once a year with Mobil I 10w40 extended from Wallyworld and Napa Gold filter. Do it in the fall when putting MH away for winter.

Getting rid of the old oil is such a chore in WA that I gave up on changing my own. For once a year or 7500 miles (on the car) and once a year on the RV, it's not worth the mess and hassle to me to DIY.

I use Castrol Edge synthetic with Wix filters.
