Most likely it is not on a slide. A slide mechanism that is sturdy enough to support the generator (approaching 200 pounds and vibrating under use) would not be inexpensive, particularly given how infrequently it would be used.

The fuel pump should be more or less accessible without dropping the generator. You'll have to take out the odds and ends on the left hand side--the starter solenoid and the voltage regulator/control boards. That's all accessible, and probably would all need to be taken out to get access to connections to disconnect before dropping it anyway. The fuel pump, at least on mine, is underneath the circuit modules there.

Dropping it is conceptually straightforward but a good bit of labor. If you end up dropping it, make sure you have adequate clearance underneath the skirting before you start, and (if needed) drive up on some ramps or park over a depression or something along those lines. A floor jack is most useful for dropping/raising the generator if needed, though frankly I'd do most everything I could to avoid needing to do so in the first place.

? Why you need to get to fuel pump?
When I replaced mine.
I had to remove it after removing the circuit board on left.
Remove fuel line first than metal connection on fuel pump. I needed a third hand. so had DW hold wrench on conn. from Gen. compartment. While used a deep socket to remove conn.
Not much room to work in. Make sure you use a gas proof sealant when putting it all back together. I did not and had to do second time. Real PITA.
No Gen slide. You can drop it. But a lot more stuff to disconn.

Which RV? I doubt most have it on a slide. On my RV you can sort of reach the fuel pump. To do major service, I have to drop the generator AND jack the coach a bit to get it out. It's a pain.

IVe got a 2008 Coachman Freedom Express Class C. I have a small jack I lower it on but the generator sits tightly in a heavy metal frame all the way around . Ill have to take a mirror and see if I can spot the fuel pump that a good ways into the Generator cabinet.
