considering upgrading to electric shades for windshield and maybe even the front side windows.

We have a one piece windshield so it would be best if I can find a one piece shade.

recommendations for brand?

I bought and installed the MCD shades myself on my Monaco, including the motorized full front shade. My purchase included 10 manual shades, plus the power shade. Three of the manual ones didn't work properly when they arrived and took some adjusting and one didn't work at all and required a new mechanism. MCD was responsive and sent me a new mechanism, but it's a learning process to remove, replace and readjust the mechanism. I wasn't happy about this after spending $3500.00. After everything was said and done, I would probably buy the Automotion if I did it again. They are less expensive and us the same internal mechanisms as the MCD manual shades.

Your coach didn't come with electric shades?

thanks all. I had the carefree bookmarked but there were zero reviews on them.

I had the cockpit curtains replaced with MCD duo shades at the MCD factory back in 2011. Only the windshield is motorized. Really enjoy them and only had a minor problem with one of the side ones not rolling up correctly. MCD sent me a new assembly.

Another issue I had was that since they tied them into the switches for the original power visors, and those switches draw on the chassis batteries, if I was in one place (as a full-timer) for long the daily use would draw down the chassis battery. I put in a Trik-L-Start charger and problem solved.

Look at the Carefree line. I have them for the windshield. No problems.

The two brands I've tried are MCD and Automotion. I've had problems with both. I've had three automotion electric blinds stop working and on my last coach, the MCD bllinds kept losing their programming. I agree with Phil & Stephie to motorize only the front. The less electric motors you have, the less chance of failure.

MCD. Motorize the front, but no need on the sides.
