Extended Warranty Help

Getting ready to buy a Class A MH. Looking to buy an extended warranty for it as I will be on the road a lot

Who would you recommend using for the warranty if not going thru the dealer. Is it cheaper to buy direct (i assume it is) than going thru the dealer?

We bought an extended warranty from Wholesale Warranties for our new 2014 travel trailer. One of our leaf springs just broke and the other three are damaged and/or bent. The warranty company will only pay for the broken one and not the others that are damaged. I have photos of the damaged parts that were sent to the warranty company but if it is still intact, even though it is damaged, they will not replace them, only the broken piece. This is our experience with Wholesale Warranties, sorry we bought from them.

Many have extended warranties and have used them to satisfaction. Many have them and have never used them or the needed repairs weren't covered and thus a waste of money. I fall into the camp of putting the money I would have used on a warranty in the bank or an investment. If I have an issue, I can pay out of pocket. If I don't I have not lost any money. Warranties are a kind of gamble. You are betting on the fact you will have an issue, it will be covered and the issue cost more than the years of premiums you paid. The warranty companies are usually much better at this game. That's how they make so much money. They make a lot more in premium than they pay out in repairs

I had numerous issues with our then new coach while it was under warranty. As a result of these ongoing issues I decided, for the first time, to get an extended service contract. I got 7 years coverage, top to bottom and everything in between for under $4k from Coachnet. It has more than paid for itself 3 years into it. Just some of the items repaired/replaced - 2 roof air units, dash air, washing machine, stereo/gps..... plus knowing that I will be out $100 max (my deductable) for any repair is comforting.

X-2, the DW puts money in savings every month in case anything happens. And it really helps that I bought my coach new 12 years ago.

I have been told that by a GOOD SAM rep. and then he quote fine print chapter and verse. So it may be odd but it is factual!!!

not saying this is not true but have never seen nor heard of such Have you a quote from a policy that says things such as this ?
seems a bit on the odd side at best if such a thing is out there

bank the money, and add a little when you can, MOST warrenties arn,t worth the paper there printed on, and don,t beleave what a sales person tells you.

Found the answer to my question.its indeed true about non covered causing covered part to fail


Failure of a covered part under normal service. A covered part has failed when it can no longer perform the function for which it was designed solely due to its condition, and not due to the action or inaction of any non-covered parts. In addition, a Failure will be deemed to have occurred when a covered part has worn beyond the manufacturer's tolerances allowed for the particular Vehicle at the odometer reading when the problem occurs.

Funny you mention that. One of the companies I got a quote from actually mentioned that and had an add on that covers that specific issue

Good sam seems to have a decent rate ? make sure you know exactly what your getting before buying (that is proper coverage for your needs)
