Has anyone had a problem with LA MESA RV/Tucson in there extended warranty?
I purchased a 2006 Fleetwood Bounder in the year of 2007.
I also purchased a extended warranty for a period of 7 years to expire this November.
I call the warranty people to see what the cost would be to extend my coverage and was told that the policy expired in November of 2013.
When I asked why it expired a year early I was told that the policy starts on the in service date for the coach and since it was a 2006 coach it was expired after the 7 year period.
I called LA MESA to find out why they filled out the contract with the wrong date all I got from was to fix the problem was to buy another contract for 4 years and they would take 500.00 off a 5800.00 contract.
I asked to speak to a manager and was told by the manager that he did not have time to look into my problem because he was too busy and would assign someone to handle it.
I called back a day later and was told that I would have to produce the paper work for them and they didnt have time to look for the files in their storage before they would do anything.
I contacted the warranty people we found that LA MESA RV had written the contract as a NEW RV that starts coverage at the time of sale with 0 miles and with it being a 2006 it had run its course and expired.
All my paper work states it is a USED RV with 6600 miles on it.
I tried calling LA MESA back and they will not return my call so I am going to have to drive there and present them with copies of the paper work on how they made a very expensive mistake.

I will add more info to this post when I get results from LA MESA.

It has been 4 weeks now and I was promised my refund in 3 weeks and I just talked to a Mr, Castro of La Mesa that promised me the refund and today I found out it was not submitted to accounting!!!
If this is the kind of service they offer than I would say AVOID THEM AT ALL COST
BE AWARE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SAT...

Talked with the corporate office and they will pull my records to see how the warranty was written and they might refund one year of the warranty.
I will keep you informed.
It might take a week b efore I hear anything.

Mr. Vicsrc, some people, such as yourself, feel comfort in having the extended warranty and I certainly understand that. There are a lot of people in that boat.

Personally, I could not stand the frustration of dealing with an extended warranty company as most of the appliances have their own warranty, the chassis (1 yrs.), the engine (5 yrs.) and the transmision (5 yrs.).

The extended policy that we were offered was $8,900. After reading all of the FINE print, it didn't really seem to cover much so we passed. We are fortunate that we have had very little repairs that would have been covered under an extended warranty. We are very far ahead of the game at 7yrs. of ownership and 65,000 miles.

Our roof top airs (3) had a three year warranty of which the front one went out right at the 3 yr. mark. All I had to pay was the labor for installation. A lippert pump went out for the levelers and I think that and labor was less than $300. It would have taken us quite a while to reach that $8,900 which would be over now.

Since you apparently don't drive your motorhome very much (just over 1,000 miles a year), I'm not sure if I would worry with it.

Have you had a lot of claims with the current expired contract?

Good luck, wish you the best,
Mr. Mark

that's exactly what we did when we bought new back in 2000. we add $X per month to that fund and pay for all maintenance and repairs from it. so far we are way, way ahead and the fund has grown to the point that we now have a very good down payment on a new MH (when the time comes). meanwhile we are still adding to it.

My problems with LaMesa RV San Bernardino were only resolved after I had an attorney contact the main office in San Diego on my behalf. That was in 2005, I guess from your comments that not much has changed. As far as renewing the extended warranty, try WholesaleWarranties.com, or even Good Sam. Deal with reliable people who will give you service when you later require assistance. Hopefully you do not have claim at this time, so get a new policy from a different supplier, and gather all your paperwork, and take them LaMesa to small claims court for a pro-rated year of warranty that did not exist.
JMHO Good Luck.

Thanks for all the advice but the problem lies with LA MESA RV.
The warranty people are the ones that found the mistake and there is nothing they can do unless LA MESA RV calls them and and informs them of the mistake.
They are willing to reinstate the coverage if notified by LA MESA RV will own up to the mistake..
I called again and asked to speak to the manager for the second time today and still no return call.
I am waiting for the paper work from the warranty people so I will have all my ducks in a row.
I would only have six months left on my coverage so a lawyer is not worth the hassle BUT this forum will satisfy me more with getting the word out so others will not be duped into this
Also my warranty people said if they had submitted the contract as a USED RV it would still be covered.
I have already lined up another warranty company Good Sam to cover the RV.
P.S my coach only has 11000 miles on it and yes I have all the service records for it for the warranty company.

I'm going to the bearer of bad news here, but I may not be right. Do you know anyone in the legal occupation. If so, have them review your paperwork. Handing your original papers over to the dealer is bad idea,!!!! just give them copies.
Here's what I suspect: Because of year produced and year you bought the ext warranty was based on original first day of service for your vehicle. Yeah 7 yrs of warranty from 1st selling date. Not uncommon, unfortunately.

If your going to renew your extended warranty, I would go with another company! Anybody, can make mistakes with dates I understand that! What I don't understand about this and it disturbs me is the manager didn't have time for you! This is Bad Customer Service! I want to do business with problem solvers not a manager that pawns trouble off to another person. This guy (Mgr.) doesn't have a clue about how to treat people when there distressed! Not only would I not renew the warranty policy, I wouldn't buy another coach from this Company! In fact, I wouldn't give La Mesa the time of day if I had 10 wrist watches on each arm and they all had the wrong time. I'm sorry to hear about your problem and how you were treated.

RV warranties tend to be a huge money maker for seller and a bad deal for the buyer.
Why not just take the $5,800, and put it in an account called "future RV repairs"

Did you have any claims that paid off during the warranty? We all know most
of these warranty places are in it for the money. After the phone conversations
you've had with them I don't think I would anti-up any more $$.
