Extended warranty

I'm considering one for a 2 year old DP we are looking at. I don't see any issues with the coach.

This will be our 3 DP, our 9th RV. I am very handy and can fix most items. A lot more electronics these days with multiplex switches etc. Are there any decent companys out there selling them.

Also if you loose the cummins or the allison it get expensive quick. Just started looking for one.

I have never bought an extended warranty for anything ever. This would be a first. I don't know if its a good idea or not. Thoughts??

After the dealer's paid for expired, I renewed with Wholesale Warranties. I was very satisfied with them. Excellent policy and great company. They emailed a blank copy to me to look over before filling it out and signing it. There will be many on here who cry 'save your money' and 'they're all crooks' but my experience has been just the opposite. Yes, you have to follow their written rules to the letter but I didn't find that encumbering. Also, any policy you buy should have an 'exclusionary' clause in it. You'll have to ask as it will cost a little more and is usually an additional charge. The exclusionary clause tells you what is "excluded" from your contract. If it's NOT specifically excluded in the contract, it's covered. Makes it really easy to see what you're paying for. My policy also covered the tires in case of failure. I lost a tire on I-95 and they paid for the truck, service call and cost of the new tire...If you call WW, ask for Jeff Shelton, he's the owner of the company.....Dennis

Be very careful and read how and what is covered. Say engin or Tran have a seal leaking and they know the seal been leaking. They will tell you the seal not coverage and will not pay.

I have an extended warranty from Cornerstone. I have never had a problem on a claim and they have been very helpful provided you follow their directions prior to having work done. My warranty will be expiring next month and if offered, I'll buy it again. It has paid for itself. All the items that have failed were electrical and not structural. I do not have to have yearly inspections or anything like that.

At www.rv-dreams.com they have done extensive research on extended warranties. Look through their blog post and you will find a couple of detailed posts with their findings. After their research they found one extended warranty company that they liked so much they became ambassadors for the company. And a few years after that they had the misfortune of needing the entire front framework of their 5th wheel to be repaired and reinforced. They were very happy with the experience.

You might consider a one year policy until you feel comfortable that you have a reliable coach.
