Extra propane tank

Just bought a 5 lb extra propane tank to run my external stove.

My question is any recommandation on where to carry it, obviously inside and closed basement doors are out of the question.

I am left with milk crate in the back ladder or in the sewage compartment which has 2 access holes. The issue in this compartment is the presence of the water pump and the 30amp connection so from that point of view I think it's also a bad idea.

Any other suggestion

In a cargo bay, in a milk crate so it cannot tip over. Outside when in use.

I have a 2.5 gal lay down LP tank I carry in a basement compartment along with portable propane bottles used in lanterns. I fear no leaks as nothing is hooked up to them. When I use the tanks, they are removed from the compartment and in the open air.

We carry it in the rear of the Jeep when on the road. We've done so for 16 years.

Should be in a ventilated compartment, and stored in a manner where it can not be overturned or allowed to turn sideways. I use one of these:

Propane Tank Foot. This one work with both a 20 pound tank and a same size diameter 11 pound tank. I believe there are other sizes available.

I will be interested in what responses come in.

We have a spare tank as well for the same purposes. We store in small compartment, and it is strapped in. We unstrap and remove when we set up. The little stand-thingy that camping world sells for the tanks is great.
