F53 Transmission indicator pointer wrong

My Unit is a 2002 Southwind 37U on a 2001 F53 chassis. The tranny indicator above the steering column is off. That is, when it's in drive, the indicator points to Low, and when it's in park, the indicator points to Drive. Anyone know of an easy fix or am I going to have to make a trip to the Ford dealer?

Agreed. Seems I am seeing many complaints regarding this, many not involved in the recall. My 06 needed an adjustment too.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll get out to the rig this weekend and try to find the adjustment wheel.

There is an adjustable wheel/nut under the steering column just for that purpose.

If the indicator is on "1" broken cable/parts. If it is off mark use the thumb wheel under the steering column to adjust. Check cable routing for easiest movement.

Simple fix.

The PRNDL indicator has a cable the moves the indicator needle. On the cable there's a plastic retainer with an adjusting nut that breaks.
You just have to replace the PRNDL indicator.

Is it an electronic or mechanical indicator?
