I had the cooling system flushed during the same service as the Tranny. Also had to have the A/C recharged. Just those three items was $1700!!!
I had the cooling system on both the engine and generator flushed, oil and air filters on both changed, the oil in the hydraulic levelers changed, grease job, Transyn in the Allision changed along with checking it see if there were any computer upgrades needed and oil in the front hubs changed. They provided an extra gallon of antifreeze, a quart of Transyn and oil for the levelers for $1,260 in Alaska.
That was a little over four years ago when I bought the MH. I don't know if prices have gone up that much or just the difference in shops?

I just had mine done at Freightliner and they didn't tell me the type of fluid used. I guess it may be a good idea if I find out just in case I have to add some later on.
When I had mine done, Freightliner use Transynd and provided an extra quart as requested.
Have you had your cooling system flushed - have them provide an extra gallon extended life antifreeze. I'll assume you have a diesel generator, use the same antifreeze in it when they flush it also.

ABSOLUTELY, verify:
1. The fluid used is OK for the transmission.
2. Whether the fluid used qualifies for the extended service interval suggested for Transynd (or its equivalent).
For Allison 3000 series, I always use the Allison filter pack (PN depends on sump depth-- that are two different ones) and a 5 gallon pail of Transynd. Change takes 19 quarts, no that leaves you one quart left over. Just pour old fluid into the pail and take in for recycling.

I do not see the Valvoline fluid on the Allison approval list.
