Ford Fiesta Toad

Bought a Ford Fiesta with an automatic transmission to tow 4 down behind our Gulfstream Crescendo diesel pusher. Tow it first time 360 miles no problem. Followed the instructions to the letter, the car towed with no problems at all hard to tell it was even behind the coach.Do not have to stop every 200 miles as with some only draw back is that you have to disconnect the neg. battery cable which means after you reconnect you have to reset all your radio channels and clock everytime. But would recommend the Fiesta as a great small car to tow.
Oh and I have been averaging 39-40 miles per gal.

If the reason Ford want you to disconnect the battery cable is to keep from running the battery down, why not add a charge line through your harness from the motorhome? It has worked for us, and many others on this forum.

Simple solution: Use a knife switch for the battery cable, and get a memory saver...it's powered by a simple 9V battery and plugs into the cigar lighter. Maintains the radio, clock and other electronics automatically. I bought mine at WalMart, but never used it cuz the HHR doesn't need it.....Dennis

On edit: Here's one on Ebay but you should be able to pick one up at any autoparts store....D

My Saturn is the last year of the style and I've towed 7 hours and then restart..I don't pull the fuse and only one time the battery failed me but it was on the way out anyway.....This toad isn't going anywhere, with the battery disconnect and pop out the button stuff...I'll keep what I have ..it works.

That battery disconnect was the deal breaker for me. I am a fulltimer, generally on the move from place to place. I did not want to have to fuss with the battery. Ended up with Honda Fit, works for me, but like the Fiesta - just not for me. Enjoy your ride
