Bill, if you are happy, why would anybody care and you don't have to explain yourself.

Non-slide coaches are very roomy. What some people don't realize, is that slides take up horizontal space. Each slide takes up about 7 inches on each end. Since we have four slides, we lose 14 inches per slide time 4 (56 inches total).

Yes, we have 'width' but our kitchen is shorter (we don't cook, so no problem). Our four slide coach is for entertaining (seating guests and for making drinks). We have two opposing sofa's and a J-lounge dinette.

Every coach has 'compromises'..... you just have to pick what works best for you.

No, not solo. Yes, I have been in coaches with slides for hours at a time many, many times. They were friends RV's but no matter, I have been there and they offer me nothing special compared to my current non-slide coach. If you need room, either go outside or buy a house.
I am happy, the wife is happy and the 3 cats are happy! What else is there. If I needed more room anywhere it would be in bed. We have a full-sized Queen bed (not an RV Queen) and all 3 cats like to sleep with us. I would install a King but I also like having a night stand and there's just no room for both.
Everyone likes to judge others but I can tell you for sure that I don't miss having slides. If we ever do buy a new coach it will likely have slides by default but I, my wife and the cats will not be any happier than we are right now. I have been full-timing for 20 years this month and this is our 2nd RV without slides. Do you really care to argue whether I am happy or not?

So tell me Bill, are you a solo FT'er? Have you ever spent any amount of time in a rig with slides, especially with opposing ones. As they say, you only know what you know.

Anytime you make something so unique the only way you'll ever break even (just parts, not labor) on the deal is if you find that one special person. As much as we may appreciate what he accomplished, not many of us would pay a lot for a non slide, non saleable to the masses, old frame/technology, tall rig like that. I'm guessing he'll get pennies on the dollar when he goes to get rid of it.

For me that's not a true statement at all. If you've ever spent more then a week in a rig 100 inches for a width is tough sledding. Now take that 100 inches add 2 opposing slides of 2 feet to push you out to 148 inches and now you got something you can call home.

So the square feet may be the same, but the quality of life will not be. This is based on me and DW living in an RV(s) for 6 months a year for the last nine years though, YMMV.

I have spend nearly 18 years in a 102 inch wide non-slide RV without ANY issues or even a desire for more carpet to vaccumn. I have called it home (my only home) since the day we bought it and I have a completely awesome quality of life. MMDV (My Mileage Does vary.....compared to yours).
Additionally, the SF is not the same comparing a single story 40 foot coach to a 2 story 40 foot coach. I also agree that it's not my cup of tea, but making random comparisons is likely unfair.

but your comment reminds me of a friend who owned a business and used class As, I think he had had 8 of them, and he said that the length didn't really matter as regardless of size (this predates slides) you would occasionally meet and bump into each other in the hallway going in different directions. 🙂

It's just over 13 feet tall. Just as tall as your regular big boy rv.

I think it said 4 m

4 meters = 157.48 inches = 13.12 ft.

We are 13' 4". I reviewed the video again and it does list 4 meters as the height. Looks taller.

Looks very nice, but not all that roomy. Didn't look like you could walk around the bed. The living room area was very crowded too. Said it only had a 225hp engine at the beginning, I wonder if he installed a larger hp engine?
