How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

I'm new here, and curious.

How many of us in Class C own Dodge B300 incomplete
cab/chassis based RV's? I know two others- Steve aka
Ripsaw, with a 1977 Brougham, and Leroy aka 1978_Dodge
_Delta who owns a 440V8 powered sharp looking 1978
Delta RV. I would like to ask, and offer, help, idea
swapping and comparing notes on our particular RV's
which are based on the Dodge B300 van chassis.

Yeah, I know. These are low tech, podgy old RV's that
would be considered "entry level" for folks like me,
but I have a deep and abiding respect for the quality
of these old "monsters of the open road". And anyone
wanting to pick brains, joke about, share notes or just
brag about our old A- Dodge-io's are certainly welcome
to PM or email me. Between all of us we can form a real
good support group, and help each other with problems
we know we'll encounter with an older vehicle.

Sure. I'd love a new RV. But I'd rather have an older
one already paid for, and a lotta great memories. Call
me frugal, an old hippie, or whatever you will. I'm proud
of my old land yacht.

Mopar Madness Manifest in the flesh,

Mark aka White Knight

P.S. Mine's a '72. Is there an older one out there someone's
motorvating in? Maybe even a Travco? W/K

We made our last (that we know of) trip this last weekend. I was surprised... a state "rustic" campground... no power, water, etc... was closing. We stayed the last day they were open. It just caught me offgard that they would close... not like htey have to shut off water or anything. Also, a lot of the roadside parks were closed... and some of our favorite little town shops had closed for the season as well.

We had a good time/trip anyway. something blew out on the rear brakes though. It wasn't good. My foot went to the floor, and I had to start pumping to build pressure. That I'll pay to have someone else take care of. 'cause I hear it's a pain in the but. Plus, next week we go to Florida for the week, so I don't have much time to work on it anyway. I'll get everything drained and winterized, then go drop it off.

I'm going to miss it... thinking about a winter trip. Or two. ๐Ÿ™‚

I may be joining Good Sams Club via a $12 intro fee from them.

One of the previous owners of my motorhome was a member. A sticker half torn off still remains on it.

A 24' open raceboat trailer with 2 boats, 2 outboards, and a load of tools. The 440 doesn't know it's back there except in the mountains. And, since we rebuilt the tranny, it feels it even less.

Thanks to the ton of mirrors and the backup camera, we can see it just fine ๐Ÿ˜›

Thus far, just a 6x12 enclosed trailer with my racing stuff in it. Behind the RV, I can't see it or feel it. '79 440.

Ok, what if anything do you pull with your Dodge based RV's and what engine?

Thanks

I've have always been a penzoil man too, but this time I put Vavoline Duro-blend 20-50w synthetic blend. I think I'll going with a pure synthetic next time though...Jerry

I use 10W40 Castrol GTX in the 360 on mine. Seams to work good. I run 40weight Castrol GTX in my twin BBC's in my boat and I figured the 10W40 was good for the MH.

I'm with Leeann... 20w50 in the 440 in mine with the temp range we live in (per Dodge the OEM manual). Old paperwork and door tags show that it was always? serviced with Penzoil dino not synthetic. Since I'm a Penzoil man from way back I have no problem.

Oil: we use 20w50 as that works in the temperature range in which we live and drive the MH (on the mfr's chart).

The wood cupholder: yep, it's still there. The bf uses is generally as a good cellphone holder as it's too small for a Gatorade bottle or an Arizona Tea bottle. There's one on the passenger-side floor, too - came right out of the paneling the first time I touched it and we haven't put it back on yet.

Leeann, I love the old wood cup holder beside of your drivers seat. Did you end up keeping that through your MH rehab projects?
