How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

I'm new here, and curious.

How many of us in Class C own Dodge B300 incomplete
cab/chassis based RV's? I know two others- Steve aka
Ripsaw, with a 1977 Brougham, and Leroy aka 1978_Dodge
_Delta who owns a 440V8 powered sharp looking 1978
Delta RV. I would like to ask, and offer, help, idea
swapping and comparing notes on our particular RV's
which are based on the Dodge B300 van chassis.

Yeah, I know. These are low tech, podgy old RV's that
would be considered "entry level" for folks like me,
but I have a deep and abiding respect for the quality
of these old "monsters of the open road". And anyone
wanting to pick brains, joke about, share notes or just
brag about our old A- Dodge-io's are certainly welcome
to PM or email me. Between all of us we can form a real
good support group, and help each other with problems
we know we'll encounter with an older vehicle.

Sure. I'd love a new RV. But I'd rather have an older
one already paid for, and a lotta great memories. Call
me frugal, an old hippie, or whatever you will. I'm proud
of my old land yacht.

That's almost a half of a century old. I doubt you'll find a website that has any information. Is your transmission guy asking about specs or are you just curious in case the question comes up? Is he a transmission guy or just a general mechanic? I would think a transmission guy would just rebuild the paper and rubber parts and replace any hard parts that need it. A general mechanic would probably want to just buy and install a reman transmission. Either way I can't imagine there being too many options or variances on a 1979 transmission.

Hello! Totally new to this website and forums for the most part. Anyways I just got myself a 1979 Dodge Brougham off the auction block and it runs and drives but I believe it needs a new transmission. Interior is MINT. That was the major selling point for me. The tranny is no buggy because my transmission dude only charges me $750 for labor. But my main question is…how the heck do I find out the specs for a replacement transmission? Is there a website or anyone with knowledge on this topic?

I owned a 1976 Allegro class A MH on a Dodge chassis, powered by a (I think) a 348 CI V8. The engine was a somewhat rare truck engine for 1½T trucks. Drove it from Indiana to Los Angeles CA and back, the only problem I had was blown exhaust gaskets. That issue was caused by carbon deposits on exhaust valves causing backfiring into the exhaust manifolds.  I cured that with the use of Gumout carb and valve cleaner with the special carb attachment sold by Gumout. It replaced the gas line into the carb, then a full can of Gumout was inverted into the device. Then the engine was ran just enough to stay running, when it died the instructions said to let it sit overnight then reattach gas line and start engine. The engine blew lots of billowing gray smoke at first, then when it smoothed out idled noticeably better. That cleaned the valves and eliminated the backfiring.

I bought 2 Firestone Transforce 8.75 x 16.5's off Amazon 4 years ago.

Most tire shops should still be able to order them in.

Not cheap though.

I'm still here. Doing better since the five-way bypass surgery.

However, having to rebuild my computer system because the old system got fried by an EMP. (CPU, DSL modem, home router, and surge protector ... all toasted boat anchors now.)

I'm still here. A second heart attack, frequent bouts of angina, five-way bypass surgery, and the pandemic have kinda put a crimp in my life. Doing a lot better now, except I still need hip replacement surgery.
