How much does a new engine cost?

In class a couple of weeks ago, the instructor told us that an ISX 15 engine alone costs about $75,000. He said the transmission is about $25,000. Told us the K3 chassis retails for $250,000. I couldn't believe how expensive it is so I tried looking it up on the interwebs. Couldn't find any clue.

Do any of you know how much new Cummins engines cost? ISX15, ISX12, ISL9, ISB6.7, ISV5.0 -- doesn't matter, I'm just curious. I have no other point to make with this post. I love my engine and everything runs fine. No complaints at all. I'm simply curious how much these things cost OEM.

Prevost is unibody.
With prices, you have to check what price you are referring to.
Just yesterday bought commercial range-oven for my house that retails at $10,000.
My price at warehouse liquidation $2,000 minus cash discount.

This is a total hearsay response, and therefore take it with a grain of salt, but I have heard many times that a bare Prevost chassis runs right around $700,000. I am not sure how that breaks down engine/chassis, but it does seem to be a lot more than I would have ever guessed.

You can get Cat C-12 take out engines for ~7,000 with only 4-500,000 miles. Plenty of life left for a MH.

Used ISX run from about 5k for a high miler, to newly rebuilt for 29k. But like you I couldn't find the price of a new one, because they all get core returned, which varies the cost.

New and used engines. Cost does not include removal, installation, any accessories, freight both ways, plus core charge if yours is not rebuildable. Cummins
