What do you think about a 1999 Fleetwood Southwind Storm that is well maintained going on a three thousand mile trip? We have roadside assistance, extended service plan and just added travel assist.

Find yourself a state campground about 100 miles away and take a 4 day camping trip to it . That should id all the predeparture fixs you should reasonably make before your big trip.

Tire Pressure Monitor System. Just like all SUV's, monitor on dash tells you if you have a low tire.

What is a TPMS? If it gives peace of mind I want one.

Go for it. 300 mile or 3000 miles really is no different. If the coach has been properly maintained you should not have any out-of-the-ordinary problems. We all have problems so don't expect a perfect trip but is should be a great trip. I am still traveling on a regular basis in my 1988 Prevost with 350,000 miles on it.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Does your RV have the Autopark system? If so buy a RGS sensor and learn how to change it on the road.

Took our 1996 Sahara on a 6000 mile, 16 state, 6 months trip 2 years ago. Only use roadside assistance once (ran out of fuel). Carried a spare, never used it.

Invest in a TPMS for peace of mind.

If it's well maintained and the tires are good, I wouldn't hesitate to take a long trip.

Don't worry about the age, condition is the important factor.

Do you know how old some of the airliners are that fly thousands of passengers every day? ๐Ÿ™‚

My opinion would be to go for it and don't worry - the worry can interfere with the enjoyment.

There are thousands of older rigs going farther. The one variable, only you can answer, is what is your tolerance for potential problems? Some people will have panic attacks if they run out of windshield wiper fluid, other people would respond to the engine seizing up and dying by popping open beer and singing along with Doris Day" "Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see, que sera sera.". (totally random aside, who, like me, is totally surprised that Doris Day is still alive and kicking?)

Date code and condition of tires? If the tires are more than 6-7 years, I would be especially leery about heading off on a trip like that.
