but not found an answer to my specific question.
I am looking at class a's with Gas V10 engine and wondering from those of you who have a V10 class A what fuel mileage are you getting with you coach. I am looking in the 32 to 36 foot and in the 2010- 2014 year range. Yes I know that diesel is better, but they are a lot more expensive up front.
Thanks for the info from those with a gas coach.
Well Sir,
If you're looking fro specifics, don't expect anything high. NO MOTORHOME get's any decent fuel mileage. They're not built for that. About 99.9% of them hover in the 6.5-9 range. And those that claim much higher, well, we'll just have to take their word for it. The V-10, just about any version, is great motor. The earlier versions, circa '99 plus or minus, hovered around 275HP but, the later ones, especially the "three valve" versions, snuck up to around 345 or 365 HP, I forgot.
But, they're hauling a ton of weight, so, gas mileage is not a top priority. Obviously, if you're really light footed (accelerator pedal) and, you're not towing anything, and are as lightly loaded as possible, you may, creep up into the 9-10 mpg range. Good luck.
Scott
