Is there a difference in Diesel Fuel?

Getting ready to start a trip and I need to fill up, I'll probably take 100 plus gallons to top off. I have a RV plus card that I use at Flying J's that allows for an extra discount. However there's a Quick Stop that has Diesel 35 cents a gallon less. It's a large station, even has 6 devoted truck lanes that appear to be always full, so I don't think old fuel is a problem. So is there a difference in diesel fuel? Am I safe in buying diesel there, Is it the same quality that I typically get at the Flying J's.
Thanks

Is that the price on the highway sign or the price at the actual pump? If it's the price on the highway sign, I'd be willing to bet they just haven't changed it due to the rapid fluctuation in pricing. Just the other day, I was filling my pickup at the pump. The advertised price on the sign was $2.45 and the actual pump price was $2.59. I asked at the counter and they said it changes so fast, they sometimes don't get time to change the sign.

The higher the % of Bio-Diesel, the less MPG you`ll get -- Flying J sometimes has a 20% Bio -- Bill Willard

Check it out on Gas Buddy, Quick Stop in Livingston Ca, and check against other stations in the areas. I've noticed in the past they're always cheaper, but have never stopped, but I think I'm going to this time.

THIRTY FIVE CENTS A GALLON is a phenomenal difference. I'd bet my house that there's no difference in the chemical makeup of any of the diesel fuels that are sold in that area. But, to have such a phenomenal difference in price is pretty amazing. We've encountered both here at home and, while traveling, about a .20 difference between stations that are semi-close to each other. That's pretty darn good if it's in fact, that much lower in price.

Diesel from any high volume station should be fine. Truck pumps with actual trucks using them is an even better sign.

Extremely high likelihood both stations are supplied by exactly the same refinery.

Said another way, very unlikely that each brand has its own refinery. And, with diesel, additives are not an important part of the fuel.

Go with the less expensive one.

There are lots of arguments about that, but diesel fuel is a commodity and various brands claims of โ€œsecret sauceโ€ additives not withstanding, thereโ€™s very little difference. Other than the stuff added to winterize fuel in cold weather locations, one supplier is the same as any other. Buy the 35 cent cheaper fuel and enjoy your ride to the bank. Spend the savings to take your mom out for dinner on motherโ€™s day.

If it is diesel fuel being sold in California, it will work just fine in your diesel.
