Keyless Entry Malfunction

The keyless entry system just gives a beep and does not lock anything. I checked out the double plunger switch on the entry door. Any other ideas for diagnosing this?

If it's an Essex pad, "559" should be the default to lock it.
Your programmed code will unlock it.

Well, I tried the reprogramming and still just get a single beep when I try to lock it. I guess that I need to check each switch on the bay doors to see that it is functioning properly?

I will try reprogramming tonite. I have a button under the dash that resets the system.

We had a 2003 HR and to re-program it you pulled the power to the transmitter that was in one of our bays waited a minute plug it back in and within 5 seconds you had to push two keys at the same time and it would re-set. The problem is I donโ€™t recall which keys you pushed. In our case we found that the ground wire to the system was bad and had to be replaced, than re-programed.

The system was supplied by Ford to Holiday Rambler. Look in your electrical bay for the control box. The generic entry code should be on a piece of tape on the box. I've forgotten how to actually reset the system, but I recall it was quite simple. It may be written on the box. If not, research thru Ford.
