Looking for an Extended Warranty Company

Hello all,

We have a 2012 30' Itasca Class A and are looking for an extended warranty. Other than Good Sam, are their any other reputable companies we should consider?

Just received from Easy-Care an E-Mail with a $450 discount for renewing ext service contract. In 2011 I paid $8130 for 4 year contract on my 06' Essex and when renewal time came up in 2015 they quoted me over $14,000. Just called them back and said since it is out of there warranty they won't re-quote me,.\WHAT A JOKE.
Picked up identical contract in 2015 from Wholesale Warrantys for $5000,
Same coverage.


PS If you want to almost guaranty no major breakdowns,get a warranty. Only used it for EGR valve since having them since 09'. Always hoping something major breaks but keeps on trucking down highway.

I guess CN is advertising some kind of a plan that's called RV Protect and will have to check it out and just for the sake of it, if nothing else.

Racorman, why is that (Can't sell in Cali!)?

The salesman said the carrier did not want to do business in California. He did not know why. He did ask me if I had any other properties in other state that had a legal mailing address and they could write a policy using that address.... but not California.

Coach-net offers a warranty and road side which is included in most of the warranties. They also offer tire coverage.

That's strange, I live in California and I purchased an extended warranty through them. They are an agent for different extended warranties. I also just recieved an email from the Escapees that they are an approved vendor.

Wholesale Warranties are pushing one of their own these days, so very biased in their opinions of other's that they were selling.
As for having a good company reputation, if there is such a thing, Xtraride seems to be getting the best reviews.

Coachnet is road side assistance - not a warranty. They are often confused but very different.

To the OP - take the money you were going to spend on your warranty and put it in the bank for emergency repairs. You'll come out ahead and without a hassle.

I just called Ford and found out that my drivetrain warranty runs until Oct 2016, and that is what I was most worried about.

I also called Good Sam and found out that I could take out their "Gold" policy for 3 months at a time. Heck, that makes sense as our rig is sitting a home for 3 months at a time, so why pay a premium for non use.

Look into Route 66 Classic Coverage, they list what is NOT covered. Had them for our '94 Adventurer and they were great to work with. More than got the cost back on a generator rebuild.

We have one through Easy Care and we are quite happy with it. Over the last year they have replaced the Transmission Control Module, the waterpump, the refrigerator and the front air conditioner. They require that one of their inspectors see and approve the work before the repair facility performs the repair. This usually takes 24 hours.

I run a auto repair shop and although we don't deal with RV warranties, we deal with about every auto warranty company out there. That being said, I've never heard the words "extended warranty company" & "reputable companies" used in the same sentence by anyone who's purchased one. I've heard other words used but none that I'd be able to type here. Most of them find any way they can to get out of paying a claim. Once had a guy who had bought a car with 103 K on it (at the time of purchase). The warranty clearly stated it didn't cover vehicles over 100K. Advised him to get an attorney. Another guy had a hitch installed. You guessed it, warranty was void even though the repair was for the radio. My experience is that anytime we call in a claim, we're ALWAYS in for a fight. They just don't pay out.

Most people even finance the warranty so they're paying interest on the warranty throughout the loans terms. I always think of that as it will be the last part of the loan paid off.

I think most people would be better off keeping their cash. You have to consider how long you're going to keep it and how many miles you're going to put on it.

Most problems with anything pop up during the factory warranty or way down the road past the point where you've traded it off.

Somebody may sing praises for some company somewhere but I don't have any good songs.
