Your fan is most likely thermostatically controlled, so likely not an indication of trouble at this point. If the converter is putting out 13.6 volts that's a good sign.
I think your next stop might be your battery control center. Not sure where it is on the 37C, mine is in my propane compartment. There are fuses and relays there that control the charging circuits. You can download a copy of the manual from the net...I don't have the link or I'd post it. I searched on the name that was on the controller.
I forget...you said your switches were both turned on, right? Mine are located in the cabinet above the door...disconnects for both chassis and house.

NOw im really confused. JUst before i pulled the converter i putt he meter on the terminals and i read something like 4.6 and fluctuated rapidly. I pulled the converter put and disconnected the charding and ground wires and plugged the converter in again. Put the meter on the terminals and its reading 13.6. ??????? whats going on here? ONe thing though. The colling fan doesnt come on. DOn;t know if that has any bearing on the case or maybe the fan only comes on under load. THis si where im at. I dont want to plunk down money to get a new converter if i dont have to. Where can i find the fuse for the charging circuit? Any mor ehelpful tips maybe?

PS. Side question. My solar panel charging light is on but obviously not doing anything. Anything i can check why?.

THanks guys. i will definately check all of the above this weekend and report back. I know for sure that the converter coolng fan is not working ergo the converter isnt working unless i have a bad fan. The conoverter did have to work overtime when i had bad batteries for a while so i wouldnt be suprised if the converter went bad. I will also check all the fuses. Where can i find the fuse for the charging station?

There is one other possibility.
Before you deinstall the converter, put a meter on it, or on the terminals of your battery control center. On my 36D, the converter feeds the control center, and the control center feeds the batts. I had a situation where after I replaced the converter, my house batts were charging, but not the chassis batt. Turned out that in addition to the bad converter, I had a blown fuse on the control center that controlled the relay for charging the chassis battery. There is also a fuse/relay for charging your house batteries.
If you check the output of the converter, and it's not 13.5-14.5 volts, then it's dead. If it IS good, then you've likely got a fuse problem in the control center.

Not much loss...they're thick cables. Bad batts, especially ones that won't take a charge, cause the converter to run nonstop trying to get them charged. My electric bill on my campsite that month was $148. Converter still worked, buy barely, and then gave up the ghost about 3mos later.

Take the 6 (?) screws out of the front of the cabinet the washer dryer sits in. This will remove the entire front including doors and allows easier access.

I didnt know that bad batteries could killa converter. Good to know. I can get to the converter via a side vent in the hall way. Darn tight though and i have coal shovels for hands. lol.

PS. Why the heck did they place the converter so far away from the house batteries? Isn;t there a lot of loss this way?

I agree... sounds like the converter. Just had to replace mine on an 05 - 37C. Mine was under the washer/dryer. Was able to get it out from the front without removing to much stuff and lots of patience. Take a look at it and see if it is working.

Definitely sounds like your converter breakers/fuse has tripped. My bad batteries killed my converter, so I feel your pain. Bought a converter from Amazon and everything has been fine since.

My apologies for not getting back on here after posting about my power problems. Initially the issue was that i had two bad house batteries. I replaced them in the mean time and all was wel for a while. Turns out for some reason the GFI that powers the house battery chargers tripped a while ago so my house batteries wherent charging. THey are down to 3-4 volts when i press the volt button on my panel. It is so low that once again my Amp level gauge and even my ac unit panel are not coming on. I reset the gfi switch and reset all breakers but it doesnt seem that the house batteries are charging. I guess i open the panel under the washer/dryer up and see if the fuses for the charger are still good because i dont hear the familiar whine of the coolng fan. Nothing but trouble with these darn batteries.

Ready Brake here. Very little work required on the car, it's a steel cable that runs from a lever on their receiver, through the front of the car, around the engine compartment, through the firewall, and clamps to the brake pedal. As your MH slows down, the car pushes forward on the receiver, which in turn pulls the cable and the brake pedal. Very little to break, and very simple system.
