I'd like to make contact with others who own one of the new (2004, 2005) Pace Arrows so we can share experiences, problems, good things, etc.

@Seatec...I would unplug the converter and/or hit the battery disconnects...

Mine did/does that, I bought a new monitor and it still does it. I asked them to run a new ground...which I come to find out they didn't. Thats the next thing I am going to try.

I'm thinking about going with a wireless system when i get around to it.

Thanks for the extra re-asurrance about the difference between Parallel and Serial.

One other question. Should i turn off the converter or unhook the bad bateries until i get new ones. Don;t want to have another converter go bad.

No...that should work fine, and it won't really matter if you go 2 12V or 2 6V...just be sure to wire them correctly.
Lots of posts here about this. If you're not sure, with 2 6V, the negative coach lead goes to one negative post. The positive post on that battery goes to the negative post on the next battery, and the positive coach lead goes to the positive post of that battery.
For 2 12V, the positives get hooked together, and the negatives get hooked together.

Jim, THanks for th info. I dont rarely if ever dry camp. I usually on go to parks with hookup. Serioulsy considering getting 2 12v batteries and be done with it. I got the same CONVERTER you have that shouldnt be a problem.

Seatec,
I think the inline ones that plug into the pedestal range from $100-$300.

For the batts, 6V are better generally if you're dry camping. But certainly not required. 12V are not usually "true" deep cycle. That being said, tons use them with no issues. 6V are wired in series, 12V are in parallel.

Also, you can usually buy the 6V batts at Sam's club or Costco for about $75/ea.

So far it's impacted 4 units. One brand new Winnie had 2 VCRs go up in smoke, not sure what else yet.

I put up a separate post about the ordeal. Took out my A/V receiver too.

Not fun.

Man, I am sorry to hear that. Are there surge protectors for this kind of event? I think they are pricey though, right?

PS. What would it take to go 12v instead of the 6v batteries. Is it even advisable?

Yup...that blows.

Yesterday a guy plugged into the other outlet on the power post I'm plugged into. Somehow managed to get 230V onto the line...took out my microwave and coffee maker.

One of these days my "todo" mh list will be clean.

Yes, a bad converter can overcharge batts. Only time I saw bulging was when mine froze, which is what took out my converter.
At this point, the converter is new, and the batts are obviously bad now. Are they 6 or 12V? either way, I'd replace batts and hopefully you're all set, as long as the battery control center is working properly.
