Looking to downsize a little - specific floorplan wanted

We have started to think about downsizing our present unit (2012 FR Georgetown bunk model - see signature), for a Motorhome slightly smaller, without bunks. We've both realized that the days of our kids camping with us are just about over (they got their own lives now). That, and between being divorced, re-married twice, and widowed once all since originally bought this unit in 2012...Suffice it to say, lots of life changes which have made the needs, wants for an RV change quite a bit, haha.

Soo, that being said, we are having a hard time finding a unit with a floorplan that fits one specific thing we really, really want - A rear bedroom with longitudal bed (meaning, head of bed up against rear wall), with windows on all 3 sides. And, at least one living room slide, for space.

Want something a bit better quality than 'entry level' as well, if possible. I've fixed several things over the years with our present unit that broke due to just shoddy construction, and cheap materials. Would prefer to get away from that.

I can't afford no custom built Prevost or Foretravel, and don't want anything that huge, anyway (and definitely do NOT want diesel). Really prefer to stick to gas, fairly new, and 35' or less. Would even consider a class C, if it was well built and good quality. The Lazy Daze 31' island bed model is the closest I've found, but without slideouts, it seemed awfully crowded inside. Wasn't crazy about its non-ducted air conditioning, either.

Sooo, does anyone know of a gasser class A (or possibly C) model offered presently, that has a floorplan like this? As always, all input, suggestions, etc. are both welcome, and appreciated. 🙂

You had me curious on this, until I looked and saw that the 33c is just another model like zillions of others, with east west facing bed in a slideout. Not what we really want, would keep what we have before would do that.

Just to avoid (?) confusion, those are what the makers call "class B+", which is marketing speak for "smallish class C with no cabover bunk." An actual class B is built inside a factory van chassis, possibly with a raised roof, while a class C is built on a cutaway chassis (or occasionally a chassis cab, as for a super C). I guess they figure a "B+" sounds better than a "C-" or something like that.

Regardless of the nomenclature, I do hope you find something that suits your needs and wants well.

The Sightseer 33C can be used front to back with the slides in. It is spacious for a couple with the slides out.

The current offering is unknown for myself.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I like Newmar, definitely a quality built rig. Seen many units similar to the one you referring to here, but just not crazy about the east-west bed setup. Nor do I like the bed being in a slideout.

Hadn't really thought about a class B unit, like a Carriage House or Phoenix cruiser the previous poster mentioned. Now that Ford is offering their new 7.3 V8 in the E-450 chassis, I could be convinced to go to something built on that chassis, if the floorplan worked. May just have to look into that.

One the reasons we chose this model is because the bed can be utilized with the slideout closed. Most models this size have a folding mattress and the bed can't be used with the slideoout closed.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't want one where the bed can't be used without opening the slideout. That'd be worthless for us, as we like to 'boondock' occasionally, in places we wouldn't want to open the slideout.

I don't like the bed in a slideout, though, for other reasons. I have this fear of slideouts eventually leaking (have had it happen once or twice), and never want that to be where we'd be sleeping.

Take a look at the 28 foot Newmar Bay Star Sport 2702 model. It does not have a north-south bed, however, it offers everything else that you're looking for, including 4 windows in the bedroom.

Coach House and Phoenix Cruiser offer the option on some of their twin-bed models to either have the beds slide together to from a double bed, or be replaced with a single larger bed, depending on the maker and model and so forth. It might be worth giving them a call or sending an email to describe your wants and see what they would have available.
