Looking for some suggestions from those who have been to Loudon for the NASCAR races during July. I've been to the website and see they have RV parking areas, and I have a friend who goes every year but he's not an rv'er, he just goes for the day, so he's no help. Can you just roll in on a friday and dry camp for the weekend? Do they have any hookups or a dump station, fresh water? How far in advance do you need to make reservations? Do they you packed right in? We have slides and it's much more livable if we can have a couple out, do they let you do that? I've been to the drag races but usually in the off weekends not during the big events. I'd like to try NASCAR but was wondering what to expect?

I highly recommend Speedway Sportspark. Stayed with them 2 times. Most recently last July.Great people.
Reserved gravel spots. No hookups. You can see the track and walk to it.
They have free hot showers (not fancy). Last year every morning we had a newspaper delivered to our site. They had coffee going all the time. Saturday night they had a live band. After the race free hot dogs. Pump out service, ice delivery. The owners are Very customer orientated.

Dirt fields, packed in like sardines. You should have just enough room for your slides, but not much more. Suck-truck is available for dumping as is a fresh water truck. No reservations needed, but ALL occupants must have a race ticket. If you get there Friday, expect to be well back in the field.

It's been about 5 years since we took an RV there. Security was getting tighter and tighter each year, to the point of taking a lot of the fun out of the weekend.

There are sites up near the track with hookups, but I believe there is quite a long waiting list to get those.

Yes you are packed in! The space they sell you...must fit your rv and tv. If you are lucky you might be able to open your awning! There are NO hookups and it is all dry camping. There are vendors that go around with FW and a kukka sukka truck if needed. The only way to not be stacked like fire wood is to jump up to Reserved S8 lot, which is $400. We have been more times than I can count and the last few times we stayed in S8. If there are spaces available in that section...it is offered to you the next season as well. If you don't take it, it goes back in the hopper for someone else. If you want one of the S8 spaces...call today! I waited 3 yrs to get one! We haven't been in a couple of years and I was told that due to attendance being down, they have some of those spaces open. They call me each January to find out if I want my space and my seats!
