More hp or an extra gear?

I read where the 2016 Ford F53 chassis changed to a 6 speed transmission, but for emissions regs. dropped the horsepower rating down to 320 from 362 on the 2015 chassis. So if you were buying a gas class A today would you rather have the 5 speed with more hp, or the new 6 speed with 320 hp?(And you can't answer that you want 362 hp with 6 speeds?)

If comparing HP and/or Torque be sure to check at what RPM it is making that amount.

Said another way, particularly for a heavy vehicle, 320 HP at 1500 less RPM would likely be more drivable than 362 HP at "screaming RPM".

I would bet they also changed the differential gear ratio in an effort to get the same torque to the axle.

so they never droped the HP they re increased it part way from 362HP 2014. Ford must derated it too much cause like u say its back to 320HP this year but still 40HP short of the pickup vertion

You may be able to re-chip the engine's ECM and get the 362HP.
Is the 6 speed an extra gear or just an overdrive that may not be able to be used in hilly terrain?
The Allison transmission 6 speed has two overdrives.
