Hi

I bought a new 2012 Coachman Encounter at MHSRV dec of 2011. They made a decent deal on my trade, and the best price I could find on the unit I wanted. This past dec took my unit back for a few warranty items and they were very helpful in getting all items resolved. Some friends of ours recently took their class C there and traded up to a 3008 Class A. We both recommend them and would look to use them in the future.

I'd like a 3008, but don't think I can live that long.;)

We just purchased from them in August 2013, and the experience was very good all around, except for the 104-degree temperatures at the time. This was our fourth RV, so we've dealt with lots of other dealers over the years, and these guys are very professional and knowledgeable, though unquestionably profit-oriented. Their prices on new units are pretty much unbeatable, though they will want to go low on your trade as well, so they are best-suited for a buyer that wants a new unit and doesn't have a trade.

Most of the complaints I've heard about them on these forums have to do with used, and especially consignment, RVs. I suspect those same units might have been a problem at other dealers too, but who knows.

They have more units on the lot than any dealer I've seen, including Lazy Days. They'll loan you a golf cart, feed you lunch, and still no pressure. Even if you're not looking, drop by if you're in the D/FW area -- it's a dealership worth seeing for yourself.

If test drive is important to you - be SURE you know what the current policy is. We did 600 mile RT drive and only then learned we must agree to buy BEFORE test drive. Needless to say - wasted trip on our part and no sale for them.

If still needed, here is a link to a dealer in Houston that came highly recommended by several people we know in Texas.

http://www.bestpreownedrv.com/ I think they even pick people up from the airport if they fly in.

Just a quick reply for you. A while back, I contacted them reference a used motorhome. Salesman sent me many pictures and I was really interested. A friend who lives n Texas went and looked at the motorhome and found that it had been UNDER water in the hurricane. Nothing the salesman told me indicated that the coach was not in the condition represented by pictures and salesman. I would be very afraid to do business with them. I would have driven a thousand miles just to be disappointed. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I have bought from them in the past.....they were great to deal with, however, when we tried to trade in our gently used unit on another new unit they just would not give me anywhere near what I needed to get on trade. I ended up buying elsewhere. From my experience, I say if you are outright buying with no trade, they are great !!

From my and my friends experience, on new and used units they own reasonable service and good prices.
Consignment units -- no service, support ... buyer beware on a consignment.
Ask if they own it or if is consigned.

Bought an 07 Zephyr last year from them. Flew in to DFW, the owners grandson picked us up and drove us down to the dealership. The coach was spotless, looked like it was never used. 8 new Michelin tires and 2 new chassis batteries.
The only 2 items that did not work was the solar charger and the washer cold water inlet valve. The coach was under a canopy so the solar charger was not found and the washer inlet was not found for several weeks. One thing to look for is, they claim to change all the fluids and filters, not this time. the oil was changed,, but not the filter??? Would I buy there again,Yes. Jimmy made sure we were well taken care of. They even provided us a car for running errands.

I had overall a great experience there with Jimmy as the salesman. I had a few minor things wrong that they took care of with no drama or fighting, including a tire. Surround sound receiver did not work, so they gave me a new one right out of the box.

Curiously, I also had the same experience with fsmenzel regarding MHSRV not changing filters. My oil change guy even commented that the filter did not look to have been changed in awhile. He was also sure that they had not changed the fuel filters.

Make sure to look at that before buying.

We just recently purchased a 2013 challanger from them and was totally satified. No pressure sales they gave up the best price which was considerable lower than other dealers with no haggleing. Would highly recommend them.

Bar H,

A suggestion: if you travel to TX to look at a MH, arrange before hand to have it inspected off-site. We flew to OR after negotiating for our unit and had it inspected by a local Cummins Service Center, which worked out very well for us.

Good luck!
