Invariably someone always asks me "what sort of mileage does that thing get?" and I always respond "not very good for a car but excellent for a house!"

6.5 out west and 7.5 in the east at 65+ and 44K lbs. My combined car/MH is 13 as we usually put as many miles on the car. I just bought a Prius so my combined may go to 28 MPG.
*I did a 100 mile test at 45 MPH on a rural WY road and got 10 MPG but I did not want to take another day to get home or be a slow poke holding up traffic. Actually at 90 miles into the test I put the pedal to the metal.:B
Without posting the speed you run at and how much you weigh a MPG does not mean much. OP, by pulling a car your combined MPG can be much better than your diesel PU and 5er.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

We get 9-10 on average. However, when on flat ground (Texas) we have gotten as much as 12.

It depends on whether we were traveling out in the Western mountains, the Great Plains heavy winds, or Eastern flatlands. I would guess that with the DP's I had a 7-8 MPG was a reasonable average. Extensive mountain travel can drop the mileage to around 5-6 mpg.

Average about 9 but if I slow down to 55 - 60 I'll get 10.

Our Newmar is 28000# empty with a Cummins 8.3 /350 horse boosted to 425 horse, and we have averaged 10.25 over 32,000 miles, most the factor is how the coach is driven, when we run at 70 we get 7mph 60 is our sweet spot.
