My friend needs smarter friends

The other day my friend came to me and said "Let me ask you something".

I said no problem ask away.

He said "I have a chance to buy an 07 newmar 45' Mountain Aire with 450 cummins and great floor plan."

I said, " do it."

He said "not the question"

he said, "I can also buy an 03 Foretravel U320 450 cummins and great floor plan." price about the same.

I said "do it"

He said "not the question"

He said "which one?"

I said, "Well the Foretravel of course. It is better"

He said, "Why?"

I said, "That is two questions and you only get one."

He said, "You don't know why. I need smarter friends."

I said, "yeah you do!"

So what would your advice be to my friend...
Careful though he may start to like you and become your friend and soon you will find your beer supply is much smaller.

I want to find a single slide Grand Villa... 99-'01 or so, the first foretravels with a slideout.

Damn things are scarce as hen's teeth, and when they show up for sale they are big big bucks.

A Foretravel UniCoach will be my next motorhome when the cash pile gets high enough (I refuse to take on a loan no matter how bad I want it).

I agree with the advice to go over to the Foreforum. They are a knowledgeable bunch.

My take on why a Foretravel is a better choice: The frame is a monocoque design with 8-10 outboard airbags. It makes them ride and perform so much better than a coach that is plunked down on top of a frame. Foretravel doesn't have the glitz that the other higher-end coaches have. A Foretravel is only appreciated by people who have owned other brands. The fit and finish is superior and may be overlooked by a first-timer. Even then, it takes a while for most of their owners to appreciate it and realize what a good rig that they truly have.

This is in no way a slam to Newmar. My wife's uncle just bought one and loves it, but I can hardly wait to see the look on his face when I invite him to drive the 'older' Foretravel that I hope to purchase.

The newmar will be one heck of a fine coach.

Foretravel is a cut above though, spoken in the same sentences as Bluebird, Prevost, and marathon

I don't see any pictures of the units the OP was asking about. Would love to see them!

MM.

PS. Newman fulltimer... Tiffin doesn't have an 'a'. Two 'eyes' allows to see what they are doing.

I'll bet with your belt AND suspenders you are causing a pinch down there which clouds your thinking.
But then again, it might be your spats could be too tight - OR maybe too much sasparilla Anyway hope you have it looked at….:B

Glad you asked that's what friends are for.

Looking at the pictures I would buy the one on the right because it is taller, wider and shinier.
