My new 1998 Boy is home and now for the stupid questions...

The time at both Lazyboys and Olin Mott was way less time than I accounted for....HAPPY.
I only put new Toyo tires on the front for now, but wish I had gone ahead and done all 6!!
The ride home was harsh!!
I know that this thing needs shocks, but I think the tires are flat spotted and the old rears worked their way up front in vibration.
I75 sucked big time!
But, by the time I was on 301, it seemed a bit smoother. I may have rounded them out a bit, at 80....

Coach runs great and everything else was fine, BUT, I have not house power as the new house bats were DOA. The main cut off switch at the door looks to be the problem as it , well , does not cut them off.
I plan to do oil , filter, fuel filter, and gen oil along with a new switch and load up.

Thanks for the replys.
Tires, yes they are '04 and I will have them changed soon.
Two new 12volt Interstate house batts.
It does drain over night. I changed switch (bad) , relay and the solenoid. I also found that the plug that the invertor was plugged into, was not working with shore power or genny. Changed to live plug and now batts charge, but still drain down unplugged.
Water. I had a hard time filling tank. Bad valve looks to be problem.
Jacks.........PO CHAINED them up. Kind of at the bottom of the list right now.
Ride. I think the front end looks very high, like the air bags are over inflating? Could I have a bad regulator?

80 mph? You may consider slowing down a bit. Like 64 mph.

For the leveler jacks, some MH's require that the gear shift be in park and the emerg brake be on, and some require the engine be running while operating them, so try it

It could be that the disconnect switch operates a relay and if the batteries are already dead it won't do anything.

Harsh ride may also be because the rig was not loaded for use. More weight may smooth it out.

On the tires... (everybody on here knows I'm obsessed with tires by now, since I had two failures in 2 months...LOL!) Check the date codes on the tires and if the rest of them are older than about 6 years, seriously consider replacing them. If you don't know how to read the date code, then do a quick Google search on how to read tire date codes. Basically, at the end of the DOT number, in its own little box, there should be a 4-digit number. The first two numbers of that 4-digits is the week the tire was made. The last 2 are the year it was made. IE., A date code of 2214 means that the tire was made during the 22nd week of 2014. And be careful running 80 on a motorhome. I'm not aware of any of the tires that have a speed rating of more than 75. Just not a good practice to run that fast on something that big and top-heavy too.

On the batteries, ....How old are they? If they're more than a couple of years old, you'd probably be just as well off to get new house batteries and start from there. And if you don't trust your disconnect switch for when the coach is stored, then take the negative cable loose from the battery terminal and cover it so it can't be accidentally reconnected until you're ready to use it again. That will guarantee that no electrical drain is happening when stored.

If your jacks are not working, make sure the hydraulic fluid reservoir has fluid in it. Make sure you are getting power to the hydraulic pump. Make sure the jacks are not bent, keeping them from extending. Make sure there's nothing obstructing them, like dirt or other foreign object or even a long-term storage set screw or something like it. Make sure that all caps and plugs are in place so the hydraulic fluid can actually push the jacks and not run out.

Not sure on your coach, but mine holds 70 gallons of fresh water, 35 black and 35 grey. I suspect yours will be similar, give or take 5 gallons.

I would suggest that you poke around the internet a while and see if you can find an Owner's Manual that should have all the relevant specifications you'll need.

Good luck! Post some pictures when you can!

I can only answer #1, why do house batts drain down, how fast of a drain are you talking, over night or a week, if its over night and you had no lights or heaters running than maybe the batts are old and need replaced, if your talking a week that might be normal even if little electric was used.

What brand is you levelers

OH, Stupid question 1 2 and 3
What all can be killing the house batts?
I will need some help, info, on the level jacks fix. I have no idea where to start with that.
