Need help with HWH slideout problem on a 2002 Suncruiser

I had my first problem with the HWH hydraulic slideout on the bedroom/wardrobe slideout on my 2002 Itasca Suncruiser 35U. This is the twin of the Winnebago Adventurer 35U. The slide is going in and out but I heard a cracking sound and there is a piece of black plastic hanging down. I'll try to post a few pics. The rest of the black plastic has foam on it and it has a center hole in it that slides along the cylinder. A big metal screw-like piece came off too. It looks like something broke off the end of the metal screw-like piece. See pics. Now the slideout will go in most of the way but sticks out about 2". When you extend it out, it makes a big thunk sound like it's stopping abruptly when it's all the way out. I found the HWH slideout full assembly part numbers on the PDF file at winnebagoind.com I called Winnebago and they said those part numbers are for full assembly parts and told me to call HWH to try to obtain the individual parts. I called HWH and they said to send pictures. I had Alpin Haus in Port Jervis, NY take a look at it but those guys are mostly familiar with trailers and 5th wheels. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd greatly appreciate any input.
I posted four pictures here http://www.pbase.com/roberta/2002_itasca_suncruiser_35u

thanks Bob, you're probably right. Anyway, it was good to get the schematic diagram and manual, didn't have it in the MH when we bought it.

Update:
The whole HWH cylinder was replaced on the bedroom slideout. It's the 35U floorplan. The HWH cylinder is part # RAP90688. The cylinder was $401.24 including tax and shipping plus 10 hours labor. Total cost of job was $1427.24. What do you think?

Thanks for any comments.

Bob46, did you find out the cause of the failure? I've got a 2002 Itasca 32V Sunrise, same or similar HWH system. No problems yet, just curious. Thanks.

HWH called me back after I sent pictures of the broken part. They said I need the Slot Cover Kit RAP92070 for $35.19. I ordered it and after it arrives, I'll try to find a dealer who can fix it. Hope this is the correct part!

This may not be your exact Winne system, but it is a good schematic of what you need. Page 13 after you click the link. The bolt in your pic is the stop adjustment bolt (item 9/10) on page 13. I am not sure if that adjustment bolt/bracket can be replaced by itself or if the outer tube must be replaced. At this point, with you sending the pics to HWH, I would wait for their answer on what parts you will need. Doug

Doug,
THANK YOU! This gets me closer to trying to figure out what's wrong. I appreciate your input!

Bob, please post back when you find out what the problem is! I own a 04, 35-U and haven't had any trouble so far but, I'm curious to what your problem is in case it happens to me later down the road.

Will do. Did you ever look underneath your bedroom/wardrobe slide as it's moving out?

Thanks, Mark. I wonder what the pin looks like. Wish I could look underneath a 35U bedroom/wardrobe slide that is working properly!
