New A/C's cheaper from sites other than camping world...

We are about to purchase two new Demotic Brisk Air II 15,000 BTU's for our class A and install them our self. These A/C's are about $200 cheaper per A/C from Amazon and other camping site's compared to Camping World. Is there a catch that I need to be concerned about? Why is there such a huge price difference. The descriptions and all are the same, but I'm just wondering is there is anything that I need to watch out for a $200 difference.

I've also done business with Adventure RV and found them to be the best price with good service. PPL is good for A/C products too!

Here is what I always do. I plug the part number into a Google search, ie, Brisk 1185675 and then check every site that comes up. Often on page two or three I've found teh best deal from a small company.

I just checked prices and CW and amazon are the same price with in
CW $747 and amazon $756

PPL is way cheaper at $558 verses $756.00

PPL has free shipping currently

Adventure RV is $519.00 plus shipping

never looked hard enough amazon is $579 inc shipping

+10 on adventure RV. Just make sure you get the correct inside grill and controls. With some, thats an extra expense.

Products fall into two categories.

1: "Fair Trade" (that's what they call 'em.. I disagree) these items are the same price no matter where you buy them. MSRP. The manufacturer sets the price and if you discount.. other than a "20% off on eferything in the store" type discount. they refuse to sell to you so you can't sell what you can't buy.

2: Cheaper at most stores NOT called Camping world (A few exceptions).

No there is no catch. you are getting a new, in the box, factory warranted product in most cases.. IN fact many non-camping world dealers and installers will use Amazon or E-bay to obtain their product.

I DO suggest you check the seller's ratings however (Amazon is not always the seller)

And consider Coleman A/C's.. they suck, most blow.. What this means is that instead of blowing air OUT through the condendser coils Coleman's suck air IN, so the crud and cotton wood seeds and stuff that cloggs the condenser.. Builds up on the OUTSIDE.. So cleaning is much faster.. 4 Bolts. lift cover, peal or blow it off, replace cover and 4 bolts.. Takes almost as long to do as it does to type it out.

I just installed 2 dometic 15000 heat pumps purchased from Amazon. PPL was cheaper, but the free shipping with Amazon sealed the deal. A word to the wise -- remember to set the dip switches.....don't ask. Other than the frustration with the dip switches, the hardest part of the install was getting 'em on the roof.

I'd be careful of this outfit. I purchased a new item from them that came poorly packaged and physically broken. Their warranty and replacement policy was I'd have to try and get the item fixed or replaced going back to the manufacturer. Luckily I purchased the item on my Amex, so I let them handle dealing with Adventure RV.
yes since they switched ownership it has went to **** as,far as customer service but price is price he asked for a cheaper price i like rv parts nation personally

Iโ€™ve always been happy with PPL, both in price and quick shipping. If you buy anything from Camping World youโ€™re a fool. Prices are always higher, even the 10-20% off sales are nothing more than bringing prices closer to what you can already pay elsewhere. Plus the CEO is a POS.

But,But, If you buy from Amazon, then you dont get to spend your time being switched back and forth from "ignored" to "lied to". And what would you do then?

Yes there is. And that is Camping World will charge more, provide poor customer service, charge your card when the order is placed, and delay shipping by a week. The catch is doing business with Camping World is a fool's game.

Don't know if this is still true but years ago my best replacement price came from PPL in TX. You might check their pricing also.

Thanks you all. That is what I assumed like anything else that you buy off line, but I didn't expect that Camping World would be that much higher.

Almost everything is cheaper on Amazon than it is at Camping World or from most any other physical store. Amazon sells over the internet, so very low overhead and in many cases the product is shipped from the manufacturer rather than from their warehouse.
