new flooring, countertops and upholstery

Hi All - a few months ago I was on here seeking advice about some major renovations we wanted done to our '04 Fourwinds Hurricane. Got some great feedback and booked ourselves in to see Brannon Hutcheson at Custom RV Inc in Red Bay, Alabama. We are in Memphis, so this was a 2 1/2 hour drive each way for us. Brannon replaced our original vinyl and carpet flooring with Mannington Adura vinyl wood planks (honey oak), which we provided for him. He also installed MCD shades and backsplash (SmartTiles). He hooked us up with: carpenter, Chris Berry, who made a wood panel in our dinette area and made new valances for us; upholsterer Waylon Burroughs, who made a brand new dinette booth for us and recovered our existing sofa, captains chairs and foot stool, plus the valances; and countertop guy TJ Allison, who replaced all of our laminate countertops with solid surface and undermounted our kitchen sink, while replacing our bathroom sink with a seamless one, and installed new faucets.
We couldn't be happier with our decision to upgrade our current RV rather than trading up. If you live anywhere near Red Bay, AL, and want to have someone else do your interior mods, I highly recommend Brannon. I thought I could post picture on here, but apparently not... otherwise I would show you some before and after!

Sorry, but I couldn't help but notice, what happened to the corner of the table.

LouLou57, I think it is the reflection from the flash of the camera. Both corners of the table have 45 degree cuts and are polished like the other table edges. And thanks for the compliment on the color scheme - it did turn out well, considering we had to make a few choices without actually seeing them next to other materials we were using.

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments. It was my husband's idea to renovate after we tossed around the idea of upgrading to a diesel with bunks since our kids are 6 & 12. Our Hurricane is 9 years old but only has 40k miles on it and only about 100 hours on the generator, so it has a lot of life in it still. We were able to do all the renovations for about $9k, whereas it would have been at least $70k plus trade-in to get a nice used diesel.

Looks champion!

I like the fact that you completely changed the design and made the furniture more modern.

Sorry, but I couldn't help but notice, what happened to the corner of the table. Hubby is a carpenter and I always do the quality control. I rub my fingers over every edge to see if there are any deficiency.

You chose great design, colour and craftsmen. You should be very proud of your unit.

OK, I uploaded some before and after pics to Flickr and hope that the link below will work so you guys can see. I know I was desperate to see pictures of other people's renovations before doing ours, so maybe this will help some folks make some decisions. For certain, it is a lot more economical to renovate than to trade-in for a newer look!

Is it possible for you to link the pics on here so we can just click and see? Thanks!

You can post picture links to a hosting site such as Snapfish, MSN Skydrive, or FMCA.com which will host pictures as well. We sure would like to see your renovations!

That's quite a few upgrades. Thanks for the review.

Maybe the forum needs to have a separate section just for professional RV upgrades. They already have the DIY section.
