We did it. I pulled the trigger on a 1984 Suncrest 26' made by R&R Custom Coachworks. As you can tell we are Seahawk fans and will be used as our tailgating rig. Well you notice if I can post photos??

Mileage is 56k. Believe we are the third owner and is in very good condition. Trying to find out information on this particular unit isn't easy. Has a very strong 454, new tires, new batteries, and new exhaust. Interior is in mint condition only thing that doesn't work is the furnace and water heater.

Now let me see if I can post photos from my phone.

Well it's maiden voyage was the past two days. Buddies and I went to our tailgating spot Wednesday evening to stake out our spot for Thursday. Everything thing seem to work like expected. Everyone was shocked on the condition of this beauty so it was fun.

The generator did stop running after 10hrs of use so I hope it's just a fuel issue. My gas gauge doesn't work so i couldnt tell on my fuel level when it died on me. But the motorhome was able to start and make it back to where it's stored at. So I just hope the generator got down to the automatic shut off area so there was enough fuel for the motor until I were to get more fuel. The RV does have a main and aux tank but I'm pretty sure I have to switch the lever to have it use the other tank someone was saying maybe the generator uses aux tank automatically but I don't think that is the case. The generator wanted to run but once started it would stop after a second or so.

How many gallons of gas will the Kohler 4.5 generator burn per hour? I know this of course depends on what is being used but yesterday we just were using some lights, and the exterior plugs for satellite and tv, and very little A/C.

Is there a way you can insulate the generator area so it's noise doesn't interfere with the TV? We could here the TV but it was turned all the way up so we were thinking of ways that we could buffer the sound of the generator.

Thanks'
Todd

So I went to DOL to transfer the registration and title and they couldn't even figure out the what the RV was worth. It didn't really matter because we wrote up a bill of sale for $500 so I was only paying tax on the $500 not fair market value. When you look up Suncrest the first year that they have listed in NADA is 1985 and mine is a 1984. I told them it was made my R&R Custom Coachworks but still couldn't find anything under that name.

I gave my Insurance company the vin# and they told me exactly what I knew and the replacement value is $4900.

Tires are new. The front suspension feels very good when driving it but will keep my eye open on that.

Hot Water not working due to improper winterization so something got cracked haven't even dug into it. The furnance works but somethings not right he didnt really go into any details. I wasn't going to let that stop me from buying this. Plug in some space heaters if needed.

Congrats on your RV. I know you will have a lot of fun with it. That being said, Two things you need to really look at to save future problems. First and most important, are the tires over 7 years old? If they are they must be replaced. A blow out can cause a lot of damage. The second thing is check the air bags in the front springs. If you find the front suspension bottoming out you could cause damage there. The p30 chassis does not have strong front springs and needs air bags to help the springs.
Do a Google on p30 front air bags and you will find a lot of threads on several forums about this. I put new air bags on the front of my 96 Aerbus and really improved it's handling.
Also on my couch I needed new main boards on my furnace and reefer to get them working. Not hard to fix but follow the diagnostics when trouble shooting as there could be other problems not the least could be mud dobber nests affecting the water heater and furnace.
Good Luck

So I bought this RV on Thursday and then we had a weekend getaway already planned for last 3 days so I have been unable to play around with it.

Did manage to get the main fuel tank filled and the oil and filter changed. Now it's back to cleaning it and getting it ready for our home opener against the Cheeseheads on Sept 4th. If all goes well we will be tailgating in this bad boy for the home opener.

So like I said the hot water heater and furnace doesn't work but not a big deal because we have a generator but I do have plans one day to get everything working. The 454 seems to be VERY strong which is always a good thing. Will I have problems in getting parts for the furnace or hot water heater or is everything still obtainable? I do have the full manual but there is no info on the specs on the the unit such as sizes of all tanks ie. Fuel, Fresh Water, Black and Grey Water, and the propane. Where do I find this info at?

Then will need to clean and re seal the roof. Since I know there are several threads on this matter can anyone point me in the right direction for the best method?

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for fixing the link Preacher Man. The best part so far was the price that I got. I felt guilty only paying $2000! The way you see it is the way I bought it haven't done anything besides give it a quick bath.

Nice to see another suncrest! I have a 1990 32' I bought out of Orlando which only has 9,000 miles on it. Only downside is the ford 460 motor. I prefer chevy personally. My 85 Pace arrow 28' has a 454 and only 25,000 miles. I like the 454's better since they sell lots of aftermarket/ performance stuff for it to help with power and MPG. Can't wait to see some pics of you suncrest! 😄
