New shocks for a Spartan chassis

Hello folks,

I need to replace the shocks on our new to us American Tradition. It's on a Spartan chassis, weighs 32K and is running a 400HP Cummins ISL with an Allison 6 speed.

Previously we've always had gassers and ran Monroe Gas Magnums and Koni FSD's. For the Spartan owners out there, what seems to work best with a Spartan chassis, or does it really matter. At the moment the plan is to go with Koni's.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

I need shocks too (85K on the Spartan)and will use either Bilsteins or Koni's. Many people swear by the more expense Koni's but I'm not sure if the cost warrants them!! It's another Ford vs Chevy debate!

Thanks Dennis, I had Bilsteins on my Workhorse chassis and the factory replaced them with the Magnums. At 52K miles I replaced the Magnums with Koni's. Hopefully the Koni's go on this week.

I've had the best luck with Bilsteins or Konis...I wasn't impressed with Monroes, but I've never used the Magnums..IMHO you can't go wrong with either Bilsteins or Konis.....Dennis
