New to us coach

I'd like to hear anything anyone can share about a coach we're hoping to purchase. It's a 2015 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 36LA with just under 11,000 miles.

When we first decided to commit a deposit it turned out someone else had just placed a deposit. We had to wait until just about an hour ago when the first folks couldn't support their income claims. So now it's our turn and unless any other turn of events changes things we'll be going back to the dealership to get a comprehensive look and drive test This coming Saturday.

I understand Tiffin is a well regarded name in the motor coach business. Fortunately we're just a few hours from the factory should we need to have something fixed.

We are very happy with our 2013 36LA.

Check the compartments the hitch recall and frame welds. Some have reported broken welds.

If the surge protection you are talking about is in the ATS, get a PI 50 amp EMS. That handles brownouts by shutting down at 104v. The ATS does not do enough.

you might want to check out www.tiffinrvnetwork.com/. They have Forums for everything.

Thanks all for the well wishes. Saturday we got to spend a lot of time with it and took it for a nice spin. I guess I've got to get the lead out of my shoe though. Couple of harder than nice stops and a bit fast around the turns. The coach for the most part looks like it just rolled off the factory line but there were a few items that needed attention. They said they'd have that handled before we attend our turnover ceremony next Saturday. We're going to stay the night hooked up to their services. We'll head out to a friends on the way home for church services then on to our home that afternoon.

I am somewhat dismayed at the insurance cost now but we'll adjust.

The coach comes with a surge protector that will cover spikes but not low voltage. Any suggestions on how to deal with the potential damaging brown-outs?

It's all over with but the shouting. Financing approved. Tomorrow we go make a final approval inspection and then a week later we sign, make final inspection and drive it home.

Now to have the shelter built . . .

They do go in one direction; the structure had sagged where they would hit each other while closing. We tried adjusting this out but never dis it successfully. Dad passed away and Mom sold the MH so the issue went away.

You are correct on the 15 to 05 model year, I read that wrong. I would think the 15s would be side hinged by now, I have no idea if they are as I haven't looked at a Tiffin gasser in a long time.

My parents was an '05, while it was constantly being worked on, that was probably the most major flaw. Theirs spent an awful lot of time in my garage.

your parents had a 2005 open road and the storage compartment doors hit each other as they closed ? how is that possible? they close in one direction besides this is 10 years newer so not sure if ones relevant to the other
