Newmar Dutch Star Slide Out Problem

After 10 years of motor home experience, A senior moment struck when attempting to send out the living room slide-out with the travel bar still set. The slide out went out a bit, got stuck before I could stop it and now makes noise going in and out and is 2" out in the rear of the slide when brought back in. Any ideas how to get the slide-out back to its original position?
Thanks, embarrassed and brain fried,
Peter

Us, too. We left a cabinet door ajar and when the slide came in it caught on the door. That wood cracking sound is not soothing. It never happened again.

"Peter L"....yep, stuff happens. After my first event, I added a large red dot (painted on) just below the switch. Never ad an issue after that.

We are all human. Typically my family buys organic foods and the other day I gravitated in home depot to a green box of screws because for a brief second I thought they'd be organic. LOL
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

The Slide mechanism in the Storage area will have to be aligned. On a Newmar, you loosen the Trans Torque bushings and push the room to be even(using a tape measure) then tighten the Trans-torque bushings. No other way to do it. If the slide lock is bowed and bent, it is best to replace as once bent it will be difficult to get it to lock tight in place. If you do not know how to align the room, it is best to go to a Newmar Service facility. We charge 1.0 hour labor to align rooms on Newmar's when this happens. The replacement of the Lock arm cab run from .5 to 1.0 depending on how easy it is to get to the wall mount screws. Doug
