The red light is on out in the back of the refrigerator. It was working fine yesterday evening, Unplugged it from Shore power this morning and I have no power on the fridge at all. Have checked all breakers and every thing I can think of. But the Red Light is on in back of the fridge. I know I have seen this topic on here about the red light but can't find it. Help, getting ready to start on a trip.
Neither on AC or DC. What do you do to get the red light off??

Thanks Doug,
So what is the fix for a partially/fully blocked cooling unit? When this frig was in my motor home it worked just fine, freezer and lower unit. We took it out and replaced it with a residential frig. Sold the old unit and they installed it and now this. The red light is ON. Will bypassing the recall box work? It's been bypassed before but I don't remember which 2of the 3 wired do you connect?
Ron

The ONLY fix for a blocked CU is replacement. Burping will NOT fix a blocked cooling unit. If the red light comes ON, then it is possible the CU is blocked or is a leaker. The refer needs checked by a professional, AND NOT BYPASSED. The recall is a safety item. Doug

Good Luck

the strong Magnet worked.

Now you have to ask yourself......

WHY did it trip (RED LED ON----which kills all power to fridge)?

Did it trip due to an 'event'.......high temp sensor opened (700*F)
OR
Did it trip because a 'glitch' in recall box

???????????
Is it time for your medication or mine?

A quick question here please. Thanks. Can the Freezer work and not the refer? I would think they work together.

Yes, it can. But NOT if the red light on the recall box is on. A partial/fully blocked cooling unit will still freeze the freezer. THAT is what causes expense for RV'ers that do not understand how to check out a refer before purchase. The seller has the refer on and shows the freezer ice cold and the purchaser thinks the refer functions. But they get home and find out the lower section will not keep anything cold. Doug

Is the box with the red light on Rev E of the Nocool band aid? Since you have a red light, you have 12V. There is a slight possibility you had a overheating of the flue and this pos did what's it's supposed to do... shut your reefer down. There is a good possibility it malfunctioned (even revision E) and there is nothing wrong with your reefer. You need to smell and look for yellow staining at the back of the unit. If you do not smell rotten eggs or see yellow stains then a strong magnet will reset a Rev E box or you can bypass it. Either way you need to monitor the unit for overheating and not cooling. After a couple hours you should have a decrease in temp on the back wall of the freezer which means your unit is OK. If no decrease in temp you need to shut it down and take it in for repair. Good luck.

Whatever is going on, you must first determine with a voltmeter, that you have both 12vdc and 120vac present. The 12v supply runs the controls for both 120v and gas operation as well. Anything else not working in the coach with the 12v lights or 120v outlets? Turn off all circuit breakers and turn them back on if 120v is not present. Check all 12v house fuses if 12vdc is not present and I suspect that you don't have 12vdc present. Your battery sw. isn't off, is it and that should kill the lights, as well?

If it's a Norcold it's the over temperature light. Need to take it in and have it inspected by a dealer.

Make sure your 12v is not low.
Batteries must be up and pretty fully charged.
Measure the DC voltage where it enters the refer.
